Unique and fundamental work of the Yakut language

 

          On October 31, 2019 a group of scientists from the Sakha Republic of the Russian Federation met with the teaching staff of the TURKSOY Department at the faculty of Oriental studies of the Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi. The head of the project "The Big Explanatory Dictionary of the Yakut Language", Vladimir D. Monastyrev told about the purpose of the travel, introduced the head of the delegation of the Academy of Sciences of the RS Peter Alexandrovich Sleptsov as well as the compilers of the dictionary.  He also noted the main purpose and importance of the trip to Kazakhstan, the presentation of 15-volume dictionaries to the National Library.

         The editor-in-chief of the dictionary "Big Explanatory Dictionary of the Sakha Language",  PhD Anatoly Gavrilevich Nelunov noted that the main purpose of this event is to promote the values of the Turkic world, the history and the culture of the Turkic peoples, as well as to exchange the experience. Authors of dictionaries PhD., researchers Vasilyeva Nadezhda Matveevna, Ammosova Nadezhda Nikolaevna, Nikonorovna Olga, etc.

        Dean of the faculty PhD Paltore Yktiyar Moldatoreuly appreciated the dictionary as "the wealth of the nation and the great fundamental work" and also noted the importance of further expanding relations in science and education and wished the introduction of the dictionary in the scientific revolution.

        In turn, the scientist academician P.A. Sleptsov, as the author of the "Big Explanatory Dictionary of the Yakut Language" noted that the dictionary is a unique publication created by the latest methods of the explanatory dictionary of Turkic languages. At the meeting, the staff of the Department "TURKSOY" expressed their congratulations to the scientists from Sakha in connection with the publication of a 15-volume dictionary.

         The "Explanatory dictionary" with a total volume of about 10 thousand pages contains about 80 thousand words and phraseological units of the Sakha language and their interpretation in the Sakha-Russian language.
