Center for the History and Culture of Azerbaijan

On May 17, 2018, the “ Center of Azerbaijan History and Culture” was opened at the Department of Turksoy, Department of Oriental Studies, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The Assistant to the Republic of Azerbaijan on Social and Political Issues, Ali Hasanov, and the Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, G. Mutanov, inaugurated the ribbon cutting ceremony.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Kazakhstan Rashad Mamadov congratulated on the opening of this center and emphasized that the Center is engaged in studying the history and culture, language and literature of Azerbaijan, and expressed hope for holding various cultural events and conferences, seminars on Turkology.

The opening ceremony was attended by famous personalities, writers, scientists, members of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan and congratulated on the opening of the center of history and culture.

President of the International Turkic Academy Darkhan Kydyrali emphasized that the opening of such a center is a very important event, and wished prosperity in the field of education and science between the two countries in the future and presented 100 books published by the Turku Academy.

The opening of such a center was a joyful event for the whole society. Recently, guests led by Teymur Atayev, an expert of the State Committee for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, visited the Azerbaijan Cultural and Historical Center. Mr. Teymur Ataev expressed confidence that the “Center for the History and Culture of Azerbaijan” will become a hotbed of further study of Turkology, ethnography, culture and literature, the language and spirit of the Azerbaijani people. He also promised to provide training materials and financial assistance for the cabinet.
