Professional development course for teachers 25.11.-26.12.2022. On 25.11.-26.12.2022, the teachers of the Department of Turksoy took part and successfully completed a 72-hour offline course on the topic "Basic Research Methods in Linguistics". The course was taught by the specially invited professor of Eskisehir Osmangazi University, Doctor of Philosophy Erdogan Boz.

Professional development course for teachers 10.10.-04.11.2022 . From October 10 to November 4, 2022, the teacher of the department Turksoy Abeldaev Zh. took part and successfully completed the 72-hour full-time and online course "Scientific Methodology and Academic Writing in Literary Studies, Linguistics, Translation Studies and Pedagogy". The course was organized by the Abay Kazakh National Pedagogical University in cooperation with Giresun University in Turkey. The course was taught by the director of the School of Foreign Languages at Giresun University, a specialist in English language and literature, associate professor Vedi Ashkaroglu. The course was held in English and Turkish. At the end of the course, all participants were awarded certificates. |

Professional development course for teachers 03.-29.10.2022. From October 3 to October 29, 2022, the teachers of the Turksoy department (Abeldaev Zh., Nazarova A, Temenova G., Shuinshina-Meta N., Kairanbayeva N.) took part and successfully completed the 72-hour full-time and online course "Research in the field of folklore and folk literature, methods of collection and classification". The course was organized by the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abay in cooperation with Ardahan University in Turkey. The course was taught by Erdogan Altinkaynak, Doctor of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature of the Faculty of Humanities and Literature, Professor of Ardahan University. |

Traditional V Farabi's international readings began at the al-Farabi Kazakh National university in April. 139 students took part in the international conference "The world of al-Farabi" at the faculty of Oriental Studies. Two students of the Turksoy department specialty "Turkish studies", A.Suleimenova 2-nd year student and A.Tazhaddin 3-rd year student took first place. Congratulations to the winners! |

TURKSOY HAS AWARDED SCHOLARSHIPS
About 3 years ago on the initiative of the rector of al-Farabi KazNU at the faculty of Oriental Studies was founded the Turksoy department. Recently the best students of department have been awarded with a special scholarship of the International organization of Turkic culture (TURKSOY) which became a good tradition. The representative of the Ministry of culture and information of the Republic of Kazakhstan in TURKSOY Askar Turganbaev awarded scholarships for social support of students who is studying on the specialties: "Turkish studies", "Foreign philology: Turkish language", "Translation studies", “Oriental studies”. Five active and the best students of Turksoy department were awarded a one-time scholarship in the amount of 100 000 (one hundred thousand). At the meeting the Representative of the Ministry of culture and information of the Republic of Kazakhstan in TURKSOY Askar Turganbaev congratulated the leadership of the al-Farabi Kazakh National university in the field of education and science on achievements at the international level and expressed confidence in the further development of cooperation between the organization and the university. At the end of the meeting the rector of the al-Farabi Kazakh National university Galymkair Mutanov thanked the leadership of the organization TURKSOY for the support of students.

In order to promote cooperation, candidate of historical science, acting professor of Turksoy department, faculty of Oriental Studies of al-Farabi KazNU Zhunis Kairat took part and made a presentation at the international symposium "Khojaly", organized by the Yildirim Bayazit university (Ankara, Turkey). During the official visit, there was also a meeting with the rector of the university and was signed a memorandum between the two universities. In addition, an agreement on cooperation in the framework of international programs: “Erasmus+” and “Mevlana” was signed. This agreement will allow the exchange programs of students, programs of academic mobility, foreign training for teachers of the university.

"Al-Farabi is the thinker of civilization»
Today the lecturer of Turksoy department of the faculty of Oriental Studies of al-Farabi KazNU Nurat Kulymbetuly Ilias was awarded with a letter of gradititude from the rector of the KazNU academician Galimkair Mutanov. Nurat Kulymbetuly translated from Turkish into Kazakh a documentary film "al-Farabi is the thinker of civilization" about the scientist Abu Nasir al-Farabi. Academician G.Mutanov and professor Zh.Altaev were consultants for the film, which was shot in conjunction with the International cultural center of Istanbul "Medar", the administration of Eskeshehir, "Turkish airlines", Anadolu university and KazNU under the guidance of doctor, professor Bekir Karlygi. A very informative and impressive film will soon be on screens. It was not easy to translate a philosophical film in such a short time. We congratulate our colleague Nurat Kulymbetuly and wish him success in his future work!

al-Farabi center – the golden bridge between the two countries
This center was established on 7 December, 2016 with the support of Istanbul university and the rector of al-Farabi KazNU, academician Mutanov G.M.
Nowadays in the al-Farabi research center undergraduates of the 2-nd course of Turksoy department of the faculty of Oriental Studies held research practice. The director of the centre, professor Abdullah Kyzyldjyk invites our students, takes care of conditions of Kazakhstan students, organizes lectures, different kinds of cultural and educational meetings and events. On our part, at the Istanbul university, at the faculty of Literature studies, specialty of Turkish studies teaches an associate professor O.S.Sapashev.
Undergraduates, according to the Farabi center program, visit the library of Suleimaniya, which is famous for its collections of rare manuscripts. The fund is extraordinarily huge. Here preserved manuscripts of the Osman Empire: the reign of sultans, padishahs, religious writings. Another remarkable fact is that there are stored books from the library of Anatolia. For example, a large number of papers on the periods of government: Fatih Sultan Mehmet, II Bayazit, I Mahmut Sultan, I Abdulhamit, I Ahmet, etc. For researchers there is a microcopy, because in the library there are numerous rare manuscripts.
The experience of working with manuscripts is a useful, necessary and important study that has both theoretical and practical significance.
