 INFORMATION LETTER

Dear colleagues and students!

 The Department of Kazakh Literature and Theory of Literature of the Faculty of Philology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University invites you to participate in the thematic week dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the classic of Kazakh literature, outstanding scientist, academician M.O. Auezov, which will be held 26-30 September 2022.

The following events are planned during the week:

1. Excursion to M.Auezov's House Museum.

Date: September 26, 2022.

Time: 10.00-13.00

Address: 185, Tolebaev Street, Almaty

Tasks:

- to acquaint students with museum exhibits, manuscripts, books, documentary materials of classics of Kazakh and world literature Mukhtar Auezov;

- to enlighten the history of interesting and little-known facts from the life of the classics of Kazakh and world literature;

- to educate the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism, respect for the culture and literature of their country.

2. Lecture on the research of M. Auezov’s work

Date: September 27, 2022.

Time: 11.00

Location: Faculty of Philology, M. Auezov lecture hall, № 316.

Lecturer: Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor J. Dadebayev, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Z-G.K. Bisengali, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor O. Abdimanuly.

Tasks:

- to reveal the main aspects of M.O. Auezov’s scientific research;

- to determine the place and meaning of M.O. Auezov’s artistic works in world and Kazakh literature.

3. Visit to M.O. Auezov Kazakh National Drama Theater

Date: September 28, 2022

Time: 15.00

Address: Almaty, Abay avenue, 103

Tasks:

- To acquaint students with the productions and theatrical troupe of the Kazakh National Drama Theater named after M.O. Auezov.

- To study the history of the Kazakh National Drama Theater named after M.O.Auezov.

4. International scientific-practical conference "Mukhtar Auezov and World Literature".

Date: September 29, 2022

Time: 10.00

Venue: Al-Farabi Library, Hall № 409

The purpose of the conference: through the exchange of views with domestic and foreign scientists, reveal the role and significance of the heritage of M.O. Auezov in modern times.

Guests and participants of the conference: prominent domestic and foreign literary scientists, writers, critics.

The conference has 5 sections:

1. Creativity M.O. Auezov in the context of world literature;

2. M.O. Auezov and trends in the development of domestic literary criticism;

3. M.O. Auezov and Abai studies;

4. New paradigms of research and teaching of Kazakh literature;

5. Kazakh literature in the context of intercultural communication

Reports are accepted in Kazakh, Russian and English.

5. Competition of literary creativity "Auezov Readings".

Date: September 30, 2022

Time: 16.00

Location: Faculty of Philology, M. Auezov lecture hall 316.

Participants: 5 teams of 1-4 year students of the Faculty of Philology.

Competition nominations:

1. Artistic reading of fragments from the works of M. Auezov (2-3 minutes)

2. Staging of dramatic works by M. Auezov. (5-7 minutes)

3. A short quiz on the knowledge of the works of M.O. Auezov (10-15 questions)

During the competition, concert numbers between nominations are included.

Winning teams will be awarded diplomas of 1-3 degrees and letters of thanks.

Closing of the Week:

- Summing up the results of the week dedicated to the 125th anniversary of M.Auezov by the leadership of the university;

- Awarding of winners, active undergraduates and students within the framework of the thematic week.
