EP purpose

Training of specialists for the scientific and educational sphere of higher educational institutions. The implementation of the program is aimed at the formation of a professional personality of a specialist capable of:

- interpret and generalize in-depth modern knowledge in the field of environmental biotechnology;

- independently carry out scientific research in the field of environmental biotechnology;

- integrate knowledge of related scientific fields into the context of their own scientific research;

- interpret the results of their own scientific research and communicate them to both specialists and non-specialists;

- to ensure the effectiveness of the educational process based on classical and innovative teaching methods;

- to build their own program of further education and research activities.

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of this educational program, it is expected that students will be able to:

ON 1 – Demonstrate in-depth knowledge about the current state of the biosphere and biogeochemical cycles, and trends in the development of scientific knowledge in the field of environmental biotechnology;

ON 2 - Interpret modern scientific knowledge when planning and organizing independent scientific research in the field of bioremediation and ecologization of modern agricultural technologies;

ON 3 - Use experimental bioindication and biotesting techniques to monitor current changes in the biosphere;

ON 4 - formulate the problems and objectives of scientific research in the field of environmental safety, choose the appropriate methodology, determine the stages of research, evaluate and interpret the results obtained;

ON 5 - Explain the features of the scientific concept of the fundamentals of environmental biotechnology;

ON6- Integrate knowledge of scientific use theories into research practice;

ON7- Apply the methodological foundations of designing, performing field and laboratory biological, environmental studies, use modern equipment and computer systems in research dedicated to the protection of various environmental objects;

ON8 - Systematically present programs for planning, organizing and practical implementation of scientific research in the field of environmental biotechnology;

ON9 - To find technological solutions to the scientific problem of neutralization and disposal of industrial and household waste;

ON10 - To use the knowledge of the basics of the doctrine of the biosphere, understanding of modern biosphere processes for a systematic assessment of environmental phenomena and forecasting the consequences of the implementation of biotechnological projects;

ON11- To find technological solutions to the scientific problem of developing a technology for deep processing of waste from the food industry, forestry and agriculture using the potential of photo- and heterotrophic microorganisms;

ON12- To generate the acquired scientific knowledge into their own scientific research of problems related to the protection of environmental objects.

Academic activities

The key principle of academic activity: to promote the development of scientific and creative potential aimed at solving modern problems of environmental biotechnology. The priority tasks in this direction are:

- presentation of the theoretical and practical methodological basis of knowledge on environmental biotechnology;

- providing a high-quality educational process in the field of environmental biotechnology that meets high standards and is aimed at training specialists using classical and modern methods;

- training and formation of qualified specialists - undergraduates in environmental biotechnology - researchers, teachers, employees of greenhouses, botanical gardens, field stations, agro-industrial and food industries;

- development and maintenance of relations with the international academic community in the field of applied and educational activities;

- exchange of experience and knowledge with the professional biotechnological community in solving promising and urgent tasks and problems of environmental biotechnology.

The program also provides academic training for future teachers, including pedagogical practice with the participation of teachers and psychologists. Conducting pedagogical activity requires a teacher to have special competencies, professional experience and very serious training, both theoretical and practical.

During their studies, they have the right to use the opportunities for academic mobility and can be sent for a scientific internship, or to summer schools for training in this field of training, including conducting joint research. The teaching staff, who will conduct classes in the educational program "Environmental Biotechnology", fully complies with clause 12 Qualification requirements for the activities of educational organizations and scientific organizations, for the training of highly qualified scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel in doctoral programs with the award of the highest academic degree: Doctor of Philosophy (PhD and doctor in the profile of the Rules of licensing educational activities according to the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 2.06.2007 N452.

The peculiarity of international scientific cooperation in the field of ecobiotechnology is the joint implementation of international scientific projects, scientific internships in leading foreign research centers and universities in Poland, Turkey, Russia, Japan etc. as well as academic ties with the Belgian Educational Center Belgian Education Council, where teachers undergo internships and receive certificates of advanced training of international level.
