Purpose

The program is aimed at training a competitive specialist possessing professional knowledge in the field of general and molecular genetics and practical skills in carrying out genetic investigations in the field and laboratory conditions; able to solve scientific and practical issues in the field of biology, biomedicine, breeding, biotechnology, ecology, and other areas of professional activity which require the knowledge and skills of the expert in genetics.

Learning outcomes

LO 1 - Analyze current state of the general and molecular genetics, ecological and medical genetics;

LO 2 - Apply modern methods of general and molecular genetics in experimental genetic research centers and laboratories of biological, medical, agricultural, and ecological profile;

LO 3 - Effectively fulfill research, production and operational activities and take responsibility of the quality of works accomplished;

LO 4 - Be able to process and analyze research, technical and licensing information relevant to the research topic;

LO 5 - Line up research, production activities based on ethic and legal regulations between people as principles of bioethics in reference of living organisms;

LO 6 - Analyze the current state of plant and animal breeding and biotechnology;

LO 7 – Work out research and production projects based on the analysis of basic and applied issues in fields of biology and medicine, genetics and biotechnology;

LO 8 - Promote professional and self-education for professional growth; be able to work in team.
