Raigul Doszhan and Laura Kuanova the team members of the Islamic Finance Centre have taken certificates of the PCPD AIFC that have completed Islamic Finance Qualification (IFQ) Training program, 72 hours at the AIFC Bureau for Continuing Professionals Development.
During Islamic Finance conference within Astana Finance days 2019 the Master Plan for the Development of Islamic Finance in Kazakhstan was presented by the ZICO Advisors, Malaysia, which is founded by the grant of IDB for AIFC. The document is under development and will be published by the end of 2019.
The Director of the Center for Islamic economics and Finance from College of Islamic Studies, Hamad Bin Khalifa University (Qatar) Professor, Dr. Nazim Ali Syed and Dr. Dalal Aassouli visited Nur-Sultan for taking part in the forum as a speakers of the panel sessions. Within visit were held the meetings representatives of Al-Farabi KazNU, vice Rector Dr. Askar Khikmetov, Dean of the HSEB Dr. Rimma Sagiyeva and Director of the Islamic Finance Centre Laura Kuanova with the authorities of AIFC, BCDP AIFC and representatives of HBKU from Qatar (Qatar foundation), where have been discussed the exact master plan of cooperation and capacity of Dual-diploma programs for MsC and PhD in Islamic finance on the base of Al-Farabi KazNU.
KazNU hosted a seminar "Islamic Finance in Kazakhstan: prospects from the AIFC and partners". The meeting was attended by Sheikh Bilal Khan, Member of the International expert Council on Islamic Finance at the AIFC, Ahmed Naguib, Middle East and Southeast Asia business development officer, Adilbek Ryskulov, Director of the Department of Sharia control at al Saqr Finance JSC, and KazNU teachers.
Dr. Ahmad M. Hasnah, President of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), attended the opening of the new Islamic Finance Centre at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in Almaty, Kazakhstan, along with the Rector of the University, Dr. Galym Mutanov, and Vice-Chairman of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) Board, Yernur Rysmagambetov, on May 15, 2019. The inauguration of the Islamic Finance Centre took place in cooperation with HBKU, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, and the AIFC.
The Memorandum of Understanding dedicated to cooperation in Islamic Finance was signed between Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Hamad Bin Khalifa University (Qatar), and the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) within the framework of the XII Astana Economic Forum.
