ISLAMIC FINANCE IN KAZAKHSTAN: PROSPECTS FROM AIFC AND PARTNERS

KazNU hosted a seminar "Islamic Finance in Kazakhstan: prospects from the AIFC and partners".


The meeting was attended by Sheikh Bilal Khan, Member of the International expert Council on Islamic Finance at the AIFC, Ahmed Naguib, Middle East and Southeast Asia business development officer, Adilbek Ryskulov, Director of the Department of Sharia control at al Saqr Finance JSC, and KazNU teachers.


It should be noted that within the framework of the XII Astana economic forum, KazNU together with Hamad bin Khalifa University (Qatar) and the AIFC signed a trilateral Memorandum of understanding aimed at cooperation in the field of Islamic Finance.


This workshop is one of the first events held after the document was signed.


Dean of the Higher school of Economics and business Rimma Sagiyeva noted that the main factor of economic growth is the training of highly qualified personnel in the financial sector on the way to increase the country's economy.


The speakers spoke about the promising directions of development of Islamic Finance in Kazakhstan, its role in stabilizing the financial sector. In particular, Sheikh Bilal Khan discussed the potential and prospects of Islamic Finance in the Eurasian region and the key directions for further development of the AIFC.


In addition, during the seminar, the parties reviewed the current state of the financial market and made proposals for the development of the Islamic financial industry in the country.
