IFQ is a global qualification that looks at Islamic finance from both a technical and Sharia perspective. It provides an understanding of the impact of Sharia in a business context and prepares the candidate for key positions in Islamic finance and Takaful (Islamic insurance).
Director of the Islamic Finance Centre and 2nd year PhD student of the Higher School of Economics and Business of Al-Farabi KazNU was on a foreign research internship at Hamad Bin Khalifa University in Doha, Qatar for 45 days. The University is one of the leaders in the field of Islamic Finance and a strategic partner of KazNU. During the internship, an invaluable research experience was gained. In addition, the process of providing a dual-degree master's program is being actively promoted, negotiations were held, the content of the program was discussed at the academic council of the partner university, and a draft map of the program was drawn up.
Deputy Dean of the Higher School of Economics and Business for Science and IR, PhD Zhidebekkyzy Aknur participated in the meeting of the expert group of the 5th Kazakh-Qatari joint high-level commission. The Intergovernmental Commission worked on February 13-14, 2020 in Nur-Sultan. The parties discussed the forthcoming in March 2020 the visit to Kazakhstan of the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, as well as the prospects for interaction in trade, economic, investment, financial, banking and educational spheres.

At College of Islamic Studies of Hamad Bin Khalifa University was held the working meeting with Associate Dean for Academic and Student affairs Dr. Remah Gharib and Associate Professor Dr. Dalal Aassouli and discussed the prospects of the Dual-degree (HBKU-KazNU) Master's program for students of both universities.
KazNU students from large, low-income families, who wish to take a course in Islamic finance with receiving the joint certificate of Higher School of Economics and Business and Al-Saqr Finance JSC, which costs 40,000 tenge, consisting of 20 hours academic for FREE.
Laura Kuanova presented research results titled “Doing well, while doing good: social Islamic finance and sustainable development” on II Science Forum: Research impact in Nur-Sultan, 12 of December 2019 under the competition “Best paper of the year”. There were presented 10 research papers, which were selected by commission of the competition.
