On October 8, a two-day training session was launched with the invitation of international coaches on the application of new approaches to the development of tourism and improving the practical skills of managers of placements in the Almaty region. Today, October 9, the second day of the training starts.
The training seminar is conducted by a certified trainer Aktymbayeva Aliya Sagyndykovna – Candidate of Sciences in Geography, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Recreation Geography and Tourism, KazNU.

On August 26-28, 2022, within the framework of the pilot project on the revival of active mountain routes between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, initiated by KazAlpinClab (RK) and KATO (KR), with the support of members of the government, deputies, the diplomatic corps, authorized tourist authorities, the directorate of the State Enterprise "Kolsai Lakes", public tourist organizations, cross-border crossings along the routes took place: Almaty – Kolsai Lakes – Sarybulak – Balbai village and Almaty – Big Almaty Lake – Ozerny - Aksu Severny – Chon-Aksu S.Grigoryevka.The Kazakh National University as part of the pilot group was represented by teachers of the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism Artemyev A.M. and Beisakhmet A.A. 

As part of international academic mobility, students of the Recreational Geography and Tourism Department have studied at Inholland University of Applied Sciences (Amsterdam, the Netherlands) during the spring semester of 2021-2022 from January 27 to July 11, 2022.

On April 7, 2022, Suranchiyeva Yel-Dana Amanzholkyzy, a producer of the Online Academy of Domestic Tourism Courses and Projects on Improving Competencies in the Field of Tourism (National Company “Kazakh Tourism” JSC), held a master class on the topic "Digitalization in the field of tourism and hospitality of Kazakhstan" within the framework of the international scientific conference of students and young scientists "Farabi alemi" for students of the specialty "Tourism".

On April 7, 2022, Omar Meruert Mukhitkyzy (co-founder and director of the tour operator SXODIM.TRAVEL) held a master class on the topic “From student towards professional” within the framework of the international scientific conference of students and young scientists "Farabi alemi" for students of the specialty "Tourism".

On April 6, 2022, an international conference of students and young scientists "Farabi Alemi" was held at the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences.

On March 31, 2022, an advisor S.A. Mominov, lecturer of the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism, organized an introductory excursion to the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan. An introductory excursion to the halls of the museum was conducted by a professional tour guide.

On March 16, 2022, S.A. Mominov, lecturer of the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism, organized an introductory excursion to the A. Kasteev Museum of Art for 3rd year students of the specialty "Restaurant and Hotel Business". An introductory excursion to the halls of the museum was conducted by a professional tour guide. During the excursion, the students got acquainted with the works of decorative and applied art of Kazakhstan of the 19th-20th centuries.

On October 26, teacher of the Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism Serik Mominov organized an excursion to the A. Kasteyev State Museum of Arts of the Republic of Kazakhstan for fourth-year students of the specialty "Tourism".
