In Taldykorgan, from March 19 to 24, 2023, competitions in the technique of sports tourism were held within the framework of the Asian Championship and the Championship of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the tourist all-around in mountain and speleotourism. The results also go into the standings of the Cup of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the tourist all-around. 42 teams from regions and large cities of Kazakhstan, as well as Uzbekistan and Russia took part in the competition in three age groups: adults, juniors and boys.Senior lecturer of the department, Artemyev Alexander Mikhailovich, was invited as an honorary guest.

The teachers of the "Recreational Geography and Tourism" department organized events on 15.03.2023 on the theme "March is the beginning of happiness and prosperity" in connection with the National Education Week.

On February 3, a training on the topic "Resource approach in a stressful situation" was held for teaching staff and students of the department by Professor of the Department of General and Applied Psychology Sadvakasova Z.M.

The law of the Republic of Kazakhstan on combating corruption was adopted on November 18, 2015. This law regulates public relations in the field of combating corruption and is aimed at implementing anti-corruption policy in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Within the framework of this law, a curatorial hour was organized on the topic: "the fight against corruption is a mechanism for establishing a fair society". Within the framework of the program "Ruhani zhangyru" of KazNU, the Republican Project Office "Sanaly urpak" launched the project.

From October 10 to 14, the faculty of the Department of Recreation Geography and Tourism takes part in the Sabre course. At the end of the course, faculty will receive a trainer's certificate and the opportunity to conduct certificated booking courses.
