On April 18th, 2024, a republican scientific-practical round table "Current issues of Kazakhstan-China relations: development and challenges of bilateral and multilateral cooperation" was held at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, organized by the Department of Chinese Studies. Scientists and researchers studying Chinese-Kazakh relations from various educational institutions of the country took part in the meeting. Today, Chinese studies, which is one of the most priority areas of Oriental studies, and Kazakh-Chinese relations are undoubtedly one of the most urgent issues. The gathered scientists discussed various issues in this direction. During this conference, the gathered scientists congratulated Nabizhan Mukamethanuly, who recently celebrated his 70th birthday. There were many people who came to specially congratulate our brother, a historian-scientist who is famous not only in our country, but also far and wide abroad. Recently, Professor Nabizhan Mukamethanuly was awarded the title of Honored Academician of the National Academy of Sciences. It means good things happenning one after one.Nabizhan Mukamethanuly, who was born in China, studied there, became a scientist and became known, is a scientist who left everything and returned to his historical homeland, despite his service, career, comfortable life in the first years of our country's independence. After coming to Kazakhstan, he successfully defended his candidacy, then doctorate work according to the requirements of this place, and passed a very large school.He served his country with all his heart and devoted all his efforts to the national history. He worked diligently for the formation of domestic Chinese science. He taught at higher educational institutions and trained students. "Center for the Study of Modern China" established under our university at the initiative of our scientist brother has been working fruitfully for ten years.Nabizhan Mukamethanuly, who has been engaged in science for almost 50 years, has published more than 440 works. 15 of them are scientific monographs and textbooks. Under his leadership, 4 candidates of science and 5 PhD doctors, who defended their scientific degrees, became well-known specialists in the field of education and science.The people who came to specially congratulate said that they know Mukamethanul as a well-thought-out scientific person, that his deep knowledge, great intelligence, strong scientific position are a great inspiration for the young generation. In this way, the heavy weight of the small gathering turned into a big party.
