On October 14th , with the active support of the Ministries of Education of China and Kazakhstan , organized by the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The theme of the forum was “Integration of industry and education in the context of the fourth industrial revolution.” The meeting was attended by leading leaders of 20 universities in China and Central Asia. The purpose of the forum is to create a platform for exchange and cooperation in the field of higher education, as well as to promote the strategy of deep integration of industry and education "One Belt - One Road". The forum is chaired by Xi'an Jiaotong University and the National University of Kazakhstan as permanent chairmen, and more than ten universities from China and Central Asia have been invited as initiators of the forum.  The Forum adopts a system of rotating chairmanship and is held alternately in China and Central Asia. On the basis of this forum, the “Mechanism of the Forum for Cooperation in the Field of Higher Education in China and Central Asia” was formed, and the “Almaty Consensus” was jointly signed by the presidents of both sides.
