Sholpan Askarova, graduated bachelor's degree in 1996 and master's degree in 1999 from KazNU. She defended her dissertation in 2005, and maintained PhD doctoral program under the Bolashak program at the University of Missouri (USA) from 2006 to 2011 during this time she defended her dissertation and received PhD. Currently she is head of the bioengineering laboratory at the Center of Life Sciences of Nazarbayev University.

Research Interests
Molecular and cellular mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases; tissue-targeted delivery of cells and therapeutic agents.
