Research and innovative activity of chair. Scientific researches on chair are conducted with the moment of basis of university (1934). For eighty-year history in different years outstanding scientists A.N.Bartenev, B.A.Dombrovsky, N. Z. Khusainova, T.M.Masenov, N. V. Pavlov, B. A. Bykov, V. S. Kornilov, V. G. Khrzhanovsky, S. A. Bedarev, V. I. Fursov, I.O. Baituling who are founders of the fundamental scientific directions worked at chair: rizologiya, biomorphology of plants, briologiya, mycology, entomology, comparative morphology of plants and animals, experimental morphology, ecological morphology of plants and animals, hydrobiology and ichthyology.

The Rizologicaldirection in Kazakhstan was based by professor, the Dr.Sci.Biol., the academician NAN RK I.O. Baituling who created school ризологов Kazakhstan. His pupils - professors of chair Mukhitdinov N. M., Ametov A.A. continue this direction. and Begenov A.B.

The floristic direction is connected with studying of a current state of rare, endangered, endemic and relic species of plants of flora of Kazakhstan. Professor Ametov A.A. heads these researches. involving young scientists (Kuatbayev A.T. Inelova Z.A. Childebayeva A.Zh. )

The direction biomorphology and a fitotsenologiya of plants is presented by researches of herbs under rukovodsvy professors of Doctor of Biological Science, Mukhitdinov N. M. Works are conducted by his pupils (associate professor Tynybekov B. M., the expert Abidkulova K.T. senior teacher Childebayeva A.Zh. expert Aldasugurova Sh. Zh. etc.)
The Briologichesky direction is connected with studying and biodiversity preservation the mokhoobraznykh of Kazakhstan, works are conducted under the leadership of professor, Doctor of Biological Science of Nesterova S.G.

The mycologic direction is connected with studying of a mycologic condition of soils and микоризы plants of the broken territories of Kazakhstan. Researches conduct к.б.н. professor Nazarbekova S. T. and к.б.н. professor Kuatbayev A.T.

Researches of ekologo-anatomic structure of plants were based by professor, Doctor of Biological Science of Aydosova S. S. and proceed her pupils (associate professors: Akhmetova A.B. Akhtayeva N. Z. Mamurova A.T. ) . Researches on studying of influence of anthropogenous factors of a technogenic origin on morfo-anatomic structure of plants are conducted.
The entomological direction which founder there was professor A.N.Bartenev is traditional. Researches in this direction were continued by G. V. Nikolaev, K.A. Dautbayeva, G. Zh. Ormanova, N. B. Baymurzayev.
The comparative and morphological direction is continued by S.T.Nurtazin, K.A.Saparov, Zh.M. Bazarbayeva, S.S.Kobegenova, B. E. Eszhanov, N. Sh. Mamilov, S. M. Shalgimbayeva, G. K. Satybaldiyeva, N. S. Sapargaliyeva.

The experimental and morphological direction was based by the member correspondent NAN RK T.M.Masenovym. In this direction T.M.Shalakhmetova, S.T.Nurtazin, K.A.Saparov, Zh.M.Bazarbayeva, Z.B.Esimsiitova, B. A. Abdullaeva, I.M. Zharkova, M. A. Suvorova work now.

The Ekologo-morfologic direction actively develops recently under the leadership of S.T.Nurtazin. In this direction K.A.Saparov, Zh.M.Bazarbayeva, Z.B.Esimsiitova, O.A.Reshetova work.

The Ekologo-faunistic direction is connected with names of professors A.N.Bartenev, V.S.Bazhanov, V.A.Selevin, B.A.Beloslyudov, V. V. Shevchenko. In this direction S. T. Nurtazin, B. E. Eszhanov, S. S. Kobegenova, N. Sh. Mamilov, G. Zh. Ormanova work now.

The parasitological direction developed thanks to L.N.Bartenev, N. Z. Khusainova, L. L. Yemelyanov, V.S.Bazhanov's researches. Now in this direction work Dautbayeva K.A. Shalgimbayeva S. M., etc.

The icthyological and hydrobiological direction arose in 1937. Staff of chair works now over increase of a bioproductivity of reservoirs and rational use of fish stocks of Kazakhstan.
