Professors of the Faculty of History of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Yskak Akmaral and Zhugenbayeva Gulbanu visited the University of Natural Sciences and Humanities in Siedlce (Poland) to give lectures and share experiences

From March 12 to March 26, 2023, professors of the Faculty of History of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Yskak Akmaral and Zhugenbayeva Gulbanu visited the University of Natural Sciences and Humanities in Siedlce (Poland) to give lectures and share experiences. The visit took place in accordance with the Memorandum signed on March 3, 2022 on scientific and pedagogical cooperation between the two universities thanks to funding under the Erasmus + program. The visit was an important step in cooperation between the University of Siedlce and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

During the visit, a personal meeting was held with the Rector of the University of Siedlce, Professor Mirosław Minkina, and the Director of the Institute of History, Professor Dariusz Magier. The professors spoke about the achievements of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, in particular the Faculty of History in the training of archivists and historians, as well as plans for joint work in the future.

Lectures by professors on the topics – “The state of archival service and archival affairs in Kazakhstan”, “Polish trace” in the archives of Kazakhstan” and “Polish-Kazakh relations in the historiography of Kazakhstan” at Siedlce University aroused particular interest among doctoral students and professors on the development of the archival sphere, history and culture of Kazakhstan. At the invitation of Professor Artur Gorak, Professors A. Yskak and G. Zhugenbaeva gave lectures to students and professors at the Maria Curie-Sklodowska University in Lublin.

Professors Dariusz Magier and Artur Gorak are foreign academic supervisors of doctoral students of the Faculty of History, and to strengthen cooperation with the University of Natural Sciences and Humanities in Siedlce, their scientific internship has been envisaged. Mutually beneficial cooperation between the two universities has promising directions and will expand in the future.
