EP purpose

The program is aimed at training specialists in the field of fundamental and applied anthropological and ethnological scientific knowledge; general cultural education of the population on issues of ethnology and anthropology; implementation of state policy aimed at regulating interethnic and interfaith processes.

The purpose of the educational program is to provide high-quality training of specialists in the field of ethnology and anthropology, as well as to form basic ideas about the main trends in the development and key problems of anthropology and ethnology, methods of ethnological and anthropological research, professional skills that allow you to search for the necessary information and use it on a creative level, as well as practical skills in the implementation of field research in this field.

Educational outcome

ON1 conduct field ethnographic research using empirical methods: descriptions, interviews, surveys, observations, questionnaires, comparative functional analysis;

ON2 to record and process field ethnographic materials, to classify them, to study information about the informant, to make accounting and reporting documentation;

ON3 create questionnaires and questionnaires for conducting ethnographic research, create a database of ethnographic sources, using information technologies;

ON4 conduct classes on ethnography of the peoples of the world, ethnography of the Turkic people, ethnogenesis and ethnic history of the Kazakh people in scientific and educational, historical and cultural centers, clubs, electives in secondary schools;

ON5 to carry out scientific and educational, methodological activities in historical and cultural centers, museum institutions, to conduct excursions, to create expositions;

ON6 conduct analytical and research work in various fields of anthropology and ethnology;

ON7 organize and carry out research and teaching activities, make appropriate methodological developments;

ON8 monitor the state of migration, ethnic and religious processes;

ON9 conduct cultural and educational activities related to the ethnic and cultural diversity of our country and humanity;

ON10 use modern information technologies in the development of ethnological and anthropological projects;

ON11 the ability to use the information and analytical base of the studied sciences in the field of popularization of historical, cultural and ethno-cultural heritage;

ON12 analyze and explain the ethno - and socio-cultural, ethno-political, ethno-social factors of the historical development of the world and national communities.

The educational program is being modernized, focusing on high international standards and changing market needs. When compiling it, the experience of leading foreign universities, leading the training of specialists in this field, was taken into account: University of Washington, University of San Francisco, Boston University, University of Oregon, Instituto Europeo di design Venice, Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, Birmingham city University, Lorenzo de Medici Institute, Norwich University.
