Undergraduates of the Department of world history, historiography and source studies conduct non-trivial research at the intersection of historical science, sociology, mathematics and computer science. An example is the reconstruction of a social portrait (dynamic "collective" biography) of Kazakh officials of the Russian Empire of the XIX-early XX centuries based on the creation and analysis of a prosopographic computer database.
