The first International Scientific and Practical Conference «Integration of Sciences: Biophysics, Biomedicine, Neuroscience», took place on June 6, 2022, organized on the initiative of the Department of Biophysics, Biomedicine and Neuroscience of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of the al-Farabi Kazakh National University and was held on the basis of al-Farabi KazNU.

The purpose of the conference is to organize an interdisciplinary discussion platform on the intensification of the integration of related fields of science in Kazakhstan in order to effectively address the problems of theoretical and applied nature facing Kazakh science in the field of biophysics, biomedicine, neuroscience and biological education.

The conference attracted participants from different regions of Kazakhstan and foreign countries such as Great Britain, Finland, United Arab Emirates, Russia. The Speakers' presentations were discussed during the Plenary and breakout sessions: Section 1. Theoretical and applied aspects of biophysics; Section 2. Achievements and current problems of biomedicine; Section 3. Theoretical and applied aspects of neuroscience; Section 4. Actual questions of the theory and practice of biological education. In total, 9 plenary presentations and 30 reports within the sections of the conference were heard. The total number of participants, including domestic and foreign academicians, corresponding members, professors, doctors and candidates of sciences, PhD, scientific staff, teachers, as well as young scientists, doctoral students, students, amounted to more than 60 people.

Authoritative foreign and Kazakh scientists presented plenary reports on the most topical problems of the iterative sciences of biophysics, biomedicine, neuroscience, and neuro-cognitive biomarkers of diseases, application of high-tech high-precision equipment for fine and timely diagnosis of diseases, molecular-cellular mechanisms of pathological activity of brain neurons during epilepsy and stroke, neurobiological mechanisms of pain, including migraines, treatment of CNS pathologies, vascular and infectious diseases, as well as promising approaches to their solution.

The results of the conference allow to conclude that during the discussion of modern achievements and problems of the integrative sciences there was a fruitful exchange of best practices and innovative ideas between foreign and Kazakh scientists, as well as new ways to combine the efforts of scientists from different spheres in the name of the progressive development of integrative sciences in the conditions of interdisciplinary interaction and international cooperation.

The conference participants came to the conclusion that it is necessary to hold an annual international scientific-practical conference «Integration of Sciences: biophysics, biomedicine, neuroscience», which should become a tradition of the department of biophysics, Biomedicine and neuroscience of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of the Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi. In addition, the conference participants decided on the need to create a Kazakh association to promote the development of integrative sciences.
