The Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, with the support of the Erasmus+ project, on October 30, 2018, gave a lecture on “Ethic considerations of the use of animals for scientific purposes”. The lecture was delivered by a member and one of the founders of the Lorraine Ethics Committee, dealing with 26 experimental centers in Eastern France professor Stefan Jurjanz, ENSAIA, University of Lorraine, France.
Topics that were discussed at the lecture and seminar:
- philosophic considerations of the place of animals in the Human society;
- animal protection regulation in the European Union;
- the French regulation framework for the use of animals for scientific purposes;
- The Ethic evaluation of experimental projects;
- opponents and associations for the animal protection.
