Kazakh-French VIII Forum of Higher Educational Institutions

     Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted events within the framework of the VIII International forum of Kazakh-French higher educational institutions.

    The events were attended by: Consul General of France in Almaty Fabrice Neveu, Advisor on Culture and Cooperation Alex Bortolan, Co-Director of the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute of KazNPU named after. Abay and Director of the Center for Geoenergy of KazNU. al-Farabi Agnes Busset, employees and scientists of universities and enterprises in France, teachers and students of Kazakh universities.

                

     Today, KazNU closely cooperates with 21 universities in France. Of the 189 grants received by the university in the period from 2022 to 2023, 42 were devoted to joint international projects with the participation of French partners.

       Together with French universities, dual degree programs are being implemented in the field of oil and gas, information technology, biotechnology and alternative energy. The Kazakh-French Scientific and Educational Center "Geoenergetics" was created on the basis of KazNU. The University is preparing several joint projects with the French company Total Energy and is implementing other promising initiatives.

      Within the framework of the 7th Forum of rectors of universities of Kazakhstan and France, which was held in Paris in 2022, KazNU signed agreements with leading French universities: The Institute of Polytechnic Studies in Paris (Sciences Po Paris), the University of Lorraine, the University of Reims Champagne-Ardennes.

       Vice Dean on scientific-innovations work and international affairs of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics Doszhan N., Acting Professor of the Department of Mechanics, Associate Professor, coordinator of the two-degree educational program "Mechanics and Power Engineering" Belyaev E. took part in the VIII International Forum of universities of Kazakhstan and France. The report told about the history, current course of work and achievements of the Geoenergy Center. Belyaev E. also reported on joint and ongoing projects with the University of Lorraine (Nancy, France). According to the results of the forum Doszhan N. held talks with representatives of a leading French company.
