XIX International Remote Asian-Pacific Mathematical Olympiad
And XVI International Mathematical Olympiad "Silk Road"
 
 On March 13 - 15, 2017, the Republican Scientific and Practical Center "Daryn" jointly with the Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi conducted the International Asian-Pacific Mathematical Olympiad and the International Mathematical Olympiad "Silk Road" (hereinafter - ATMOS and ISDN).
More than thirty countries participate in ATMO simultaneously: Argentina, Australia, Russia, USA, Canada, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Mexico, etc.
Countries participating along the Great Silk Road take part in ISDN: Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, China, Tajikistan, etc.
Kazakhstan took part in these Olympiads for the first time in 2003. Every year more than a hundred Olympians from all over Kazakhstan take part in them with great pleasure.
All participants of the Final stage of the Republican Olympiad in mathematics were invited to the Olympiad. In total, 88 schoolchildren in Almaty and more than 100 in Pavlodar took part in the Olympiad.

Republican scientific-practical center "Daryn" of the Ministry of education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan held March 2-4 T. G. on the basis of mechanic-mathematical faculty of Kazakh national University named after al-Farabi of the VII international competition of research projects in mathematics and mechanics named after U. Dzholdasbekov (hereinafter – Contest).

With the participation of first-year students and teachers of the department of computer science of the Kazakh National University, Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty of al-Farabi was held an evening dedicated to the birthday of Kazakh poet M. Makatayev. Students have shown that not only know how to solve math problems, but also have a good knowledge in the field of literature and art.

January 27 - at the Mechanics and Mathematics Department held a competition "Interesting Mekhmat", which was the organizer of the student council of the faculty. With each of the department took part in 5 students. 

Standout chess tournament was the team of Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty.

On behalf of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics We congratulate the women's volleyball team to win the 1st place in the Olympics "Health".

10-12 January 2017 the annual seminar "School of the young teacher" was hosted at the Mechanics and Mathematics Department. The workshop was inaugurated Dean of the Faculty Dr., Professor M.A. Bektemesov.

On December 6, 2016 official rewarding by results of the Mathematical Olympic Games of a name of the academician Shaltaya Smagulov took place. The deputy dean of Mechanics and Mathematics faculty TREASURY of al-Farabi Isakhov Asylbek Abdiashimovich and the head of the department of Fundamental mathematics Sikhov Mirbolat Bakytzhanovich made a speech at closing.Each participant 2 rounds received the certificate of the winner of 1 tour and the participant 2 rounds. Then owners of letters and diplomas were awarded.
