On June 14 closing ceremony of Total Energy Summer School was held with the participation of the rector of KazNU Mutanov G.M.

From May 28 to June 8, 2018, the 2-nd International Summer School "Mathematical Methods in Science and Technology" is held at the Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty of al-Farabi Kazakh National University. 

Master students specialization "Geoenergy" Department of Mechanics of Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (Zarina Turtaeva, Maksum Elaman, Bergentaev Didar, Eldana, etc.) From 01 to 03 June 2018, they had practical training at the uranium mining plant at the Tortkuduk deposit, operated by KATKO JV LLP.

The IEEE 12th International Conference on Application of Information and Communication Technologies (AICT2018) will be held in Almaty, Kazakhstan on the 17, 18 and 19th of October 2018.

The holiday of Nauryz was celebrated at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics was awarded for the III place in the contest "The Best Yurt".

The international social project started last year. Initiatives of young people supported the leadership of the region, industrial enterprises. Just a year the project received recognition and expanded geography, this year came the team from Russia. It took 72 hours for 10 teams consisting of engineers, students, robots and IT professionals to create prototypes that make life easier for nidovards or end-users.

April 6, 2018 in the dowry of students named after U.A. Zholdasbekov hosted the final of the team of the club of cheerful "Sunkar Cup" in the Sunkar students' trade union. At the end of the match the teams of the Mechanics of the Mathematical and Chemical Faculty won.

The French-Kazakhstani Scientific and Educational Center Geo-Energy, which is actively developing and offering Kazakh students the opportunity to obtain two masters degrees, is carrying out a purposeful job of attracting large enterprises like TOTAL and KatKO-Orano, which since this year have paid great attention to the development of the project and are making their contributions.

At the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics Kaz NU on February 12, 2018, at 10 o'clock, held a meeting of students, undergraduates, doctoral students and teachers with N.Temirgaliyev the doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, professor, director of the Institute of Theoretical Mathematics and Scientific Computing of ENU after L.N.Gumilev.

In the period from 6.02.18 to 9.02.18 at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, master-classes of foreign scientists from the University of Thomas More (Belgium) under the program ERASMUS+ were held within the framework of the international project APPLE - Applied curricula in space exploration and intelligent robotic systems: "Entrepreneurship and Communication" and "Introduction to VHDL Programming Using Basys3 and Vivado".
