A researcher of Ancient Turkic written monuments, Prof. Mehmet Ölmez held a seminar at the department of Turksoy
Professor of Istanbul University, doctor of Philological sciences Mehmet Ölmez conducted a seminar at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Department of Turksoy on September 7, 2018 from 10.00 to 13.00. The theme of the seminar: “Ancient Turkic inscriptions and researches on the ancient Turkic inscriptions made in Mongolia and Kyrgyzstan”. The seminar was attended by the faculty members and students, as well as learners from other universities.
Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ölmez showed a great deal of examples in ancient Turkic language in comparison with the words of modern Turkic languages, and also noted the importance of ancient Turkic written monuments and their significance. A professor was given a letter of appreciation at the end of the seminar. The head of the department invited a professor to visit the university again to give lectures in the near future.
