The Turksoy Department of the Faculty of Oriental Studies has issued a petition for the involvement of Professor, Doctor of Philosophy Erdogan Boz. As a result of the efforts of the scientific council of the department, the long-awaited meeting of one of the outstanding professors studying the problems of the modern Turkish language from the foundation to the present day took place.

Erdogan Boz, the author of scientific works in the field of the old Anadolu language, ancient Turkic languages, as well as in the field of cooperation of the Turkic peoples, held a number of planned scientific and educational events. Doctoral students, undergraduates, as well as students of our university had the opportunity to discuss important topics regarding scientific research in the field of linguistics, the difficulties of preparing publications in indexed journals, as well as conducting joint research projects. The teaching staff of the department together with the students organized a number of meetings at which Professor Boz gave lectures on the grammar of the Turkish language, as well as on general linguistics. The language of presentations and lectures was Turkish, but despite this fact, our students were able to actively participate in conversations and discussions with the professor on the topics of syntax, lexicology and morphology.

The arrival of a specialist of this level, the possibility of holding round tables, seminars, lectures, brings the faculty of Turksoy to new horizons. The events aimed at the exchange of experience are the basis for further joint international projects, set new standards, set high goals and inspire young scientists to new achievements.

Our faculty expresses gratitude to Erdogan Baz for high-quality and effective cooperation, for accompanying our students on their research path, for curating the international educational program for the exchange of students erasmus Plus. It is also important for us to have the support of Erdogan Boz in working with students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies at the Eskisehir Osmangazi University.

Lectures and consultations of the professor contribute to improving the quality in the preparation and conduct of scientific research of our students. Having the experience of publishing more than 150 works in the field of philology and linguistics, Erdogan Boza is the bearer of the most important skills and abilities, which he generously shares with the students of our faculty.

For his part, Erdogan Boza was satisfied with the level of qualification of the teaching staff of the department, the quality of the professional approach of our specialists to training and the transfer of knowledge to our students. Our distinguished guest has repeatedly noted the depth of interest shown in the issues of Turkology among our students. A pleasant surprise was the fact that students were well aware of modern works devoted to problematic issues of linguistics.

Taking into account the interest shown in the events held by our guest, taking into account the discussions that took place after the official part of the event, as well as taking into account ideas and plans for further cooperation, we consider this round of research meetings to be one of the most successful in this eventful 2022.
