On March 11, 2024, within the framework of SDG 4 took place online lecture "Determination of international jurisdiction by the courts of Germany" was held with Azer Aliyev, doctor of law, professor at the Faculty of Law of the Halle-Wittenberg Martin Luther University.

The organizers of the online lecture are the Department of International Law of the Faculty of International Relations of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Associate Professor Dr. Ph.D. Altayeva Kamilya Zhakipbekovna.

February 19, 2024 at the Faculty of International Relations of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University gave an open lecture on the topic “Legal Consultant. Who is this and what are they all about? The lecture was given by specially invited guest Tuleu Sergazy, a junior lawyer at SIGNIM LAW, a graduate of the Faculty of International Law of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

On February 15, 2024, on the Zoom platform, the Department of International Law held a scientific seminar on the topic: “Selecting the optimal methodology for ensuring the protection of personal data”.

On February 3, 2024, the final of the First Almaty Student Competition in International Commercial Arbitration (TKS Mutcourt) was held. From the Department of International Law of KazNU named after. Al-Farabi created two teams that qualified for the finals; 16 best teams from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan participated in the qualifying final round of the competition. Team No. 52, made up of KazNU students, took second place in the finals of the competition. The students were awarded a cash prize in the amount of two million tenge.

On January 26-27, 2024, the international winter School for young scientists «Countering Child Trafficking: International legal experience and practice of Kazakhstan» was held at the Faculty of International Relations of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the university and its contribution to achieving SDG No. 16 «Peace, Justice and effective institutions».

The opening of the international school was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of International Relations, PhD Delovarova L.F. and the head of the Department, PhD in Law, Associate Professor Sairambayeva Zh.T.

Senior Lecturer of the Department of International Law Bekkayirov N.B. on the eve of the Day of the Republic by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was awarded the medal "Ерен еңбегі үшін".

On October 13, the LEX Discussion Club hosted a round table on the topic “The role of the media and civil society in the fight against corruption”.  The event was dedicated to the sixteenth goal of Sustainable Development - peace, justice and strong institutions.  Students made presentations and were awarded certificates.

From September 21 to September 23, 2023 Institute of State and Law named after. G.S. Sapargaliev held the First Republican Youth Olympiad on the topic “The relationship between national interests and international legal obligations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.”
5 groups from leading universities in Kazakhstan took part, including students of the specialty “international law” of al-Farabi Kazakh National University. At the end of the Olympics, our team won 2nd place.
