Determination of international jurisdiction by the courts of Germany

On March 11, 2024, within the framework of SDG 4 took place online lecture "Determination of international jurisdiction by the courts of Germany" was held with Azer Aliyev, doctor of law, professor at the Faculty of Law of the Halle-Wittenberg Martin Luther University.

The organizers of the online lecture are the Department of International Law of the Faculty of International Relations of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Associate Professor Dr. Ph.D. Altayeva Kamilya Zhakipbekovna.

  The online lecture was attended by 3rd year students of the specialty "International Law".

  During the lecture, the issues of establishing international jurisdiction by the courts of Kazakhstan and Germany were considered. The mechanism for determining jurisdiction by German courts was also discussed. A review of the laws of Germany in force in the matter of establishing jurisdiction has been conducted. At the end of the lecture, the participants discussed a case study on the topic under consideration.

The combination of theoretical and practical aspects of the lecture aroused the interest of the students. During the lecture, there was a wide discussion of the problem of establishing international jurisdiction.
