Actual problems of ethnology: history and modernity

From January 16 to January 20, 2023, the Department of Archeology, Ethnology and Museology of the Faculty of History organized the first winter school of ethnologists "actual problems of ethnology: history and modernity", "Actual problems of ethnology: history and modernity". Famous ethnologists from Kazakhstan and France, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Russia, Kyrgyzstan gave lectures to the students at the Winter School.

The following issues were considered at the Winter School:

- Traditional culture of Kazakhs in the collection of the St. Petersburg Kunstkamera. The role of museum funds in the study of modern culture;

- Museification of intangible cultural heritage: research, experience, presentations;

- Ethnoconflictology. Typology of conflicts: modern methods of description and evaluation;

- Signs of prestige in traditional Kazakh culture;

- Regional and museum ethnography;

- Socio-cultural adaptation of youth through innovative discourse – a component of the formation of cultural intelligentsia in Kazakhstan,

- The use of digital technologies in teaching "Ethnology";

- Anthropology of socio-cultural changes in Azerbaijan in the post-Soviet period;

- Ethnodemographic processes of independent Kazakhstan;

- Relevance of the work of two French scientists (sociologist P. Bourdieu and political anthropologist M. Abeles) for the study of the history of Kazakh society.

Ethnologists from all over Kazakhstan, museologists from republican, regional, district museums, university teachers, undergraduates, doctoral students, attended the audition.
