The order of the country's leader on the introduction of a unique monetary unit was issued on November 12, 1993 in Kazakhstan. The public learned about this on November 13 from the news, as well as the statement made by the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (1990–2019), Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev. Two days later, on November 15, tenge entered circulation. It was this date that officially became a festive one and marked the beginning of a new era for the state. Since that time, Kazakhstan has its own factory for the production of banknotes, which creates banknotes with a new design. Kazakhstanis are proud of their national currency, which is: recognized at the international level; several times received the status of the most beautiful; is of good quality. According to experts, it is not easy to counterfeit tenge due to complex protective elements. Some of them are: holograms; high relief images; threads with color-changing effect. Surprisingly, such a high-quality national currency of Kazakhstan was developed in just one year. Of the countries that were once part of the USSR, Kazakhstan was one of the last to leave the ruble zone. In 1992, the government gathered specialists to develop the tenge, and already in 1993, banknotes came into use.
