In the Kazakh National university Department of World History, historiography and source study of the Faculty History, archeology and ethnology organized international workshop which was called "A New Frontier in the Study of Modern History of Central Asia: Research Collaboration between Kazakhstan and Japan". In the first part of this workshop participants presented papers about current problems on studying Central Asia in modern historiography of Japan and Kazakhstan.

In the second part has been held the discussion about internationalization of the modern universities in the world. On this subject presented their papers professor of Uaseda University Keiko Sakuray and the vice rector of the Kazakh national university Burkitbayev M.M. During the disscussion participants have focused the attention on an important problem in the field of the modern universities as internationalization of the national universities, various opinions took place about it.
