The meeting was organized by the teachers of KazNU named after Al-Farabi of the faculty of history, archeology and ethnology of the department «History of Kazakhstan» Saylan B., Kozgambaeva G., Khasanaeva L., Noyanov E.

The participants of the meeting were veterans of the Afghan war, Doctor of Historical Sciences Bolat Saylan (Almaty city), Baidaulet Darkenbayev (Almaty region), Adil Abdikhalykov (Almaty region), Aldazhar Seyituly (Kyzylorda region), Serik Khaniyev (South-Kazakhstan region).

Veterans talked about the history of the Afghan war and about the work they did to educate the young generation of love for the Motherland in our time of peace. The meeting was attended by students of the faculties of history, archeology and ethnology, mechanics-mathematics, economics and business. In addition, the veterans responded to various questions of students and allowed them to imbue with the theme of patriotism.
