In the last days of autumn, on November 29 and 30, a significant event was held in the Al-Farabi Library for kazakhstani PR specialists, and those who are just going to work in this area, students of the specialty “PR”. Professionals met at the round table, ready to share experiences and learn about the latest global trends.

The event was organized by the UNESCO, International Journalism and Media in Society Department. Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Dean of the JournalismFaculty, O. Abdimanuly, expressed confidence that any questions at this meeting will be answered. “If a person does not strive for heights in his profession, he cannot be considered a professional with a capital letter,” he said. Events of such a plan help ina professional growing.

“Every year, foreign guests take part in the work of the School,” said NazgulShyngyssova, head of the UNESCO, International Journalism and Media in Society Department. “This year we have a lot of speakers from Afghanistan. In particular, the editor of The “Voice of Americas” Nazari Aria, the editor of The “Tolo News” Sadat Marjan, the editor of the TV channel “Arman TV” NooriSadam and many others.

For two days, the participants of the International Autumn PR School had the opportunity to attend master classes of foreign and kazakhstani journalists, SMM specialists, PR managers, bloggers.

The sections of the International Autumn PR Schoolwere very versatile: “PR trends of 2018 year”, “Digital technologies”, “Creating multimedia content”, “Media Relations”, “Information regulation and legislation in mass media”, “Push Technologies”, etc. According to NazgulShyngyssova, in the priority of the School is the work for improvingthe media literacy of our citizens.

Reviews of the so-called “students” of the Autumn School are completely positive. In addition to Almaty residents, undergraduates of L. Gumilyov ENU and bachelor students of I. ZhansugurovZhetysu State University arrived at the event. According to them, they got a lot of useful contacts andunforgettableprofessional experience.

According to the organizers, next year no one intends to interrupt the tradition and in the fall the School will once again unite professionals from PR and media spheres.
