The Abay-Verne program, named after the Kazakh poet Abay and the French writer Jules Verne, is a scholarship program jointly funded by the French Embassy in Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Education and science of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2018.

The program offers scholarships for students to study in French or English each year: through co-leadership, it has been implemented at the 2nd year level of the master's and doctoral programs.

The winners will receive a monthly scholarship of 800 euros for 10 months, as well as free education during this time (from September 2022 to June 2023) at the University of Lorraine, located in Nancy, France. The scholarship holders were not only exempt from paying the registration fee in state universities, but also received a free long-term visa for the Schengen area.

According to the results of the meeting of the Franco-Kazakh mixed commission, which was held on July 4, 2022, 21 candidates were approved (19 candidates for the master's level, including 17 in the main list, 4 in the additional list and 2 candidates for the doctoral level). Among the same applicants are 7 undergraduates, 1 doctoral student from the Department of mechanics. This is a great achievement for the Department of mechanics.

We congratulate the scholarship holders and express our gratitude to all applicants who have expressed a desire to study in France by participating in the program!
