On June 25, 2021, the First Vice-Rector of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Mr. Mukanov K. N., together with the vice-rector of the University of Reims Champagne-Ardennes, Mr. Essaid Ait Barka and the attache of the French Embassy in Kazakhstan, Mr. Gilles Mametz, opened an online event held as part of an international scientific seminar dedicated to the opening of the French-Kazakh Mathematical School. The seminar was attended by the best professors and scientists from Japan, France and Kazakhstan: Professor Toshiyuki Kobayashi (University of Tokyo, Japan); professor Jacques Alev, Professor Laurent Di Menza, Professor Francois Vigneron (University of Reims Champagne-Ardennes, France); Professor Ualbay Umirbayev, Professor Semyon Serovaysky and Professor Assel Beketayeva (Al-Farabi Kazakh National University), as well as postdoctoral students Niyaz Tokmaganbetov and Yerzhan Belyaev (Al-Farabi Kazakh National University); doctoral students Quentin Labrier and Ana Bernal (University of Reims Champagne-Ardennes, France); undergraduates Louis Massone (University of Reims Champagne-Ardennes, France) and Anel Abdibekova (Al-Farabi Kazakh National University).

The main purpose of the seminar is the exchange of experience between professors and young scientists from different countries in the areas of development of the science of mathematics and the presentation of French-Kazakh educational programs.

In his speech, the Vice-rector noted that Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is one of the leading partner universities of France in Kazakhstan thanks to the work of the Geo-Energy center, which should become a French-Kazakh center for education and research in Central Asia. Two years ago, the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the University of Reims Champagne-Ardennes established close cooperation in the field of mathematics. This cooperation with the French university in the field of mathematics is an honor for the Kazakh side, given the excellent reputation of the French mathematical school. The Vice-Rector also hopes that international cooperation will contribute to the internationalization of the student body of the University of Reims Champagne-Ardennes and the development of research activities in the field of fundamental mathematics. In this regard, the International Scientific Mathematical Seminar in honor of the opening of the French-Kazakh mathematical school will be the starting point for joint scientific and pedagogical activities.

It should be noted that during the implementation of the project of the Franco-Kazakh Mathematical School, a double diploma program has already been developed and is being implemented with the French University of Reims Champagne-Ardennes. The joint efforts of the universities have already borne fruit. In 2020, the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University won the joint project Erasmus + MIC. This year, seven undergraduates from Kazakhstan passed the qualifying exam for studying in France. Within the framework of the school, it is expected to further provide opportunities for studying abroad, namely in France and defending master's theses on the basis of a European university and al-Farabi Kazakh National University, as well as in the long term holding senior positions in scientific, technical and technological fields at universities and companies.

More than 60 participants took part in the seminar.

At the end of the seminar, the speakers and active participants were awarded certificates.
