Round table on " Transition to the Latin alphabet: Pros and Cons”

On February 12, 2018, 3rd year students of Law Faculty together with the lecturers of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law, and the student club “Amanat”, held a round table on the theme “Transition to the Latin alphabet: Pros and Cons”.

The purpose of the event: the Formation of spiritual identity of the student and cultural education.

The content of the event: On 12 February 2018, 3rd year students of the Law Faculty of group YUP-309 together with the lecturers of the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law, and the student club “Amanat” held a round table on the theme: “Transition to the Latin alphabet: for and against”.

The participants of the Round table noted that the Kazakh writing on the basis of Latin graphics is a means that will contribute to the growth of national consciousness, further national identity, as well as the protection of national values. Doctor of Law, Professor D.M. Baimakhanova drew attention of the audience to the advantages and disadvantages of the Internet version of the alphabet based on the Latin alphabet. In addition, she drew attention to the importance of preserving the features of the Kazakh language. Further, the participants of the round table shared their views on the history of the alphabet, the development of Kazakh writing, the experience of other Turkic countries that adopted the alphabet based on Latin graphics.
