CSD 2. Zero hunger

 

In accordance with the instruction of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the Republic of Kazakhstan provided timely humanitarian assistance to the Republic of Turkey. The humanitarian cargo sent to the disaster zone included items of warm clothing, winter tents, metal beds, bedding, medicines and other essentials with a total weight of about 55 tons. Humanitarian aid from Kazakhstan was sent to the Turkish cities of Gaziantep and Adana by special boards of the state airline «Berkut» and Turkish cargo air transport. Further, humanitarian aid was sent from Gaziantep Airport and Incirlik military airbase to the regions most affected by the earthquake.

 

The purpose of the organization of this event is to ensure food security, improve nutrition and promote sustainable development.

 

The main tasks include:

  • Ensure everyone has access to safe and nutritious food
  • End all forms of malnutrition
  • Double the productivity and income of small food producers
  • Sustainable food production systems and their resilience
  • Preservation of genetic diversity in production
