11.00 a.m. On May 19, 2022, a round table «Constitutional referendum in Kazakhstan - the basis of new initiatives» is being held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University
The Round Table session will discuss constitutional reforms, as well as ideas and provisions submitted to the referendum held on June 5, 2022.
Speeches of leading scientists of Kazakhstan from various fields of legal theory and practice, as well as speeches of leading legal scientists who were directly involved in the development of laws and other normative legal acts concerning the constitutional development of Kazakhstan will be heard.
During the meeting, the main provisions of the constitutional reform carried out in Kazakhstan will be considered; the significance of the referendum scheduled for June 5, 2022 will be revealed; the main threats to national security in the Republic of Kazakhstan in the light of the ongoing constitutional reform will be identified; the significance of the Constitution for every person and citizen will be determined; the directions of modernization of the human rights protection mechanism will be determined.
The Round Table meeting will be attended by representatives of state and law enforcement agencies of Kazakhstan, legal scholars and representatives of public organizations.
