Turkish Folk Song Evening
April 30, 2019 at the department of the Turkoy, faculty of Oriental Studies of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi held a musical and poetic event “Bu Bahar Başka Bahar”. The special guest at this festival was the performer of classical and traditional songs from the Republic of Turkey, Rehim Gülmez.
Together with the students of our department, Rehim Gülmez sang classical Turkish as well as Kazakh songs to the accompaniment of the Turkish national musical instrument bağlama (saz). He conquered the listeners with a bright timbre and energetic manner of the performance. The songs “Divane aşık gibi”, “Uzun ince bir yoldayım”, “Bülbül”, etc. were played at the concert. It was very interesting to listen to the Kazakh songs "Sagyndym Almatymdy", "Zhaylaukol keshterі" wıth the sound of bağlama.
The guests of the event - staff and students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies - were very grateful to the teachers of the department Turksoy Selenay Baloğlu and Ceren Kabadayı for organizing such an interesting and bright concert.
