EP purpose

The purpose of the OP is to train, taking into account the prospects for the development of the country, competitive highly qualified specialists with in-depth professional education, a high level of professional culture, able to formulate and solve problems in modern science and industry, teach at universities, successfully conduct research in the field of environmental biotechnology and related fields, as well as carry out management activities in private and public organizations, enterprises, laboratories, companies and institutes.

The mission of the OP is to meet the needs of the research and practical sphere of activity by highly qualified biotechnologists with an analytical vision of the prospects of biotechnology, capable of independent thinking and ensuring the progressive scientific, technical, socio-economic and cultural development of society.

Learning outcomes

Upon completion of this program, it is expected that doctoral students will be able to:

1. interpret current trends, trends and patterns of development of domestic science in the context of globalization and internationalization;

2. demonstrate systematic knowledge in the field of environmental biotechnology and related fields of science;

3. generate, organize, plan and implement a comprehensive scientific research characterized by academic integrity, based on modern theories and methods of analysis;

4. to implement the complex of acquired knowledge and skills in the management of biotechnological science for the promotion of biotechnological programs in legislative, governmental, regional institutions and local self-government bodies;

5. discuss knowledge and achievements in various fields of biotechnology with colleagues and the scientific community;

6. to choose and effectively use modern research methodology in the field of environmental biotechnology;

7. critically analyze the results of scientific research, assessing the conformity of the conclusions with the data obtained;

8. demonstrate the skills of public speaking and public speaking at international scientific forums, conferences and seminars, including in a foreign language;

9. to review scientific articles, as well as to present the results of their own research in articles in order to publish them in the open press;

10. substantiate and defend your point of view in a reasoned manner in the scientific community;

11. apply modern information technologies and specialized programs for processing the received data and their bioinformatic analysis, demonstrate a high level of computer literacy.

Academic activities

The key principle of academic activity: to promote the development of scientific and creative potential aimed at solving modern problems of environmental biotechnology. The priority tasks in this direction are:

- presentation of the theoretical and practical methodological basis of knowledge on environmental biotechnology;

- providing a high-quality educational process in the field of environmental biotechnology that meets high standards and is aimed at training specialists using classical and modern methods;

- training and formation of qualified specialists - doctoral students in environmental biotechnology - researchers, teachers, employees of greenhouses, botanical gardens, field stations, agro-industrial and food industries;

- development and maintenance of relations with the international academic community in the field of applied and educational activities;

- exchange of experience and knowledge with the professional biotechnological community in solving promising and urgent tasks and problems of environmental biotechnology.

The program also provides academic training for future teachers, including pedagogical practice with the participation of teachers and psychologists. Conducting pedagogical activity requires a teacher to have special competencies, professional experience and very serious training, both theoretical and practical

The teaching staff, who will conduct classes in the educational program "Environmental Biotechnology", fully complies with clause 12 Qualification requirements for the activities of educational organizations and scientific organizations, for the training of highly qualified scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel in doctoral programs with the award of the highest academic degree: Doctor of Philosophy (PhD and doctor in the profile of the Rules of licensing educational activities according to the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 2.06.2007 N452.

The peculiarity of international scientific cooperation in the field of ecobiotechnology is the joint implementation of international scientific projects, scientific internships in leading foreign research centers and universities in Poland, Turkey, Russia, Japan etc. as well as academic ties with the Belgian Educational Center Belgian Education Council, where teachers undergo internships and receive certificates of advanced training of international level.
