EP purpose

High-quality training of a highly qualified interdisciplinary specialist in the field of biophysics, capable of interpreting the basic principles of modern natural science and biophysics; who has a modern methodology of scientific research and the skills of working on scientific modern medical and biological experimental equipment, capable of systematizing and interpreting scientific theories and concepts of the latest trends in biophysics and biology in order to further apply this knowledge in the implementation of dissertation research and is ready to carry out independent scientific research based on an adequate description the object of research, the choice of methodology with a projection on the development of promising innovative areas of biophysicists. A specialist - biophysicist is able to assess and determine the significance of this or that product of his and other scientific activities, to present and defend his own scientific opinion in scientific discussions using their working language; ready to participate in the development of modern theoretical and experimental research methods in order to create new promising tools and organize work on the practical use and implementation of their results.

Educational outcome

A graduate after studying this program will be able to:

 

ON1. Demonstrate a systemic understanding of biophysical processes, substantiate the theoretical provisions explaining the physicochemical laws of the studied phenomena in living things;

ON2. To be able to conduct research on a scientific problem in order to create new theories that explain the studied biophysical laws and introduce the results of their scientific research into production;

ON3. Participate in the development of new modern experimental methods of biophysical research;

ON4. Reveal the scientific scientific essence of the problems arising in the course of research and use for their solution the appropriate physical and mathematical apparatus for the analysis of biophysical processes and phenomena;

ON5. Develop modern experimental diagnostic methods for biophysical research;

ON6. Use modern multimedia, information and communication technologies and the capabilities of computer technology, as well as domestic and foreign experience in researching biological processes and phenomena;

ON7. Conduct independent research, interpret their results, and make a personal contribution to the development of this area of ​​science and production;

ON8. To be able to carry out pedagogical activities, conducting training sessions in universities, providing guidance for master's and doctoral dissertations, developing appropriate educational and methodological documentation, publishing educational and teaching aids.

ON9. To carry out the analysis and examination of the presented research results, documents, materials characterizing the activities on the issues subject to verification and assessment, formulate and substantiate conclusions on the subject of the examination;

ON10. Possess the ability to critically analyze, evaluate facts and synthesize new ideas obtained in the field of their competence, discuss the results of their own research with the general public;

ON11. To work in a team adhering to ethical and legal norms, focusing on the principles of protecting human health and nature, as well as to build effective cooperation with colleagues to achieve professional goals and be able to create conditions for the development of the creative abilities of an individual;

ON12. Demonstrate creative originality, observing high moral and ethical standards, creative thinking in the implementation of activities in a specific field and show their high competitive ability when building the trajectory of their professional growth and development throughout their professional career.

Reading all lecture courses provided only teachers who have academic titles and degrees.

At the moment, the composition of the faculty and teaching support staff of the department provides a highly effective conduct of classes in all disciplines of the department at the appropriate scientific and methodological level.

Academic mobility is implemented within the Republic of Kazakhstan and according to international programs (DAAD, ERASMUS, etc.)

Scientific schools or scientific directions of the department:

The Department of Biophysics and Biomedicine conducts research on human physiology and biophysics, developmental physiology and labor physiology, methods of teaching biology and chronobiology.

The department has scientific schools that have received international recognition: the school of Professor S.T. Tuleukhanov on chronophysiology and the school of Professor V.M. Inyushin on biophysics.

There are international relations with foreign universities Drexel University (Philadelphia, USA), Ben-Gurion University (Israel), Moscow State University, Peoples' Friendship University, Tomsk University (Russia) and others.
