Smekenov Izat Temirgaliyevich in December 2022 became the owner of a award for young talented scientists of the Republic of Kazakhstan and was today awarded a diploma from the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek for his success and achievements in the field of science.

Smekenov I.T. is a PhD doctor and a researcher in the Laboratory of Molecular Genetics of the Scientific Research Institute of Biology and Biotechnology Problems at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, where he manages and participates in several scientific projects. During his scientific activity, he published more than 36 scientific papers, including 9 publications in scientific journals indexed in Web of Science with a non-zero impact factor and in an international scientific journal included in the Scopus database. The main results of the research were presented at more than 14 international conferences. Now Smekenov I.T. has H-index - 4.

Smekenov I.T. concurrently is a senior lecturer (2019-2023) of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of non-profit JSC "Al-Farabi Kazakh National University". He teach such disciplines as "Genetic Engineering", "Molecular Biology", "DNA Recombination", "Chromosomal and Genetic Engineering", "Special Workshop on Biochemical Genetics", "Molecular Genetics" and "Fundamentals of Laboratory Research in Genetic Technologies".

It should also be noted that Smekenov I.T. is the "Best young scientist of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University" for 2021 year.
