Dear students and teachers! The Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, invites you to participate in our festive events dedicated to Independence Day.

Responsible for the work of the clubs "Genetics" and "English club" teachers of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics Alіkul A.B and Mynbayeva D.O. introduced the students who participated in this conference with the goals and objectives of the clubs, raised the issue of appointing the heads of the clubs, the election of the club secretary. A discussion of the annual work plan of the circles was held and a proposal was made on a topic that will be raised at the next meeting.

On September 7, at 12.00, an online meeting will be held with the 1st year students enrolled in the speciality "Genetics". 

The meeting of graduates of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology was held online on the ZOOM platform. The department's staff attended the event, led by the head of the department, Zhunusbayeva Zhazira Kabulovna, graduates of the older generation and graduates of this 2020 academic year. 

Al-Farabi KazNU has been celebrating Alumni Day since 2011, and it has managed to become a tradition for many graduates of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology. This year, festive events in honour of the Alumni Day of the Kazakh National University and the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics are dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of al-Farabi. They will be held on May 30 in an online format. However, despite the various problems related to the Covid-19 pandemic that has engulfed the whole world, department alums of different years still remember this momentous day and send congratulations to their Alma mater.

On April 28, 2020, an open meeting was held at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University under the chairmanship of the head of the Department, Zh.K.Zhunusbaeva. The meeting was attended by all the curators-advisors of the department and students of 1-4 courses and master's students of the Russian and Kazakh departments of the specialities "Genetics", "Biology", and "Biotechnology", more than 200 people. The issue of passing the summer session using distance learning technologies was discussed at the meeting.

This week, in the House of Students No. 7 of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, curators-advisors of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics held an educational hour with students on creating a friendly atmosphere, reducing anxiety, organising interaction in a group, demonstrating the best sides by students. Guest – Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor Zhigitbekova B.D.

On February 28-29, 2020, within the framework of the Republican Challenge, the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics organized a collection of things for the needy. We have collected clothes for children and adults, books, toys. Things were transferred to the socially-charitable project "Teplo", which redirects the received things to poor families, orphanages and social assistance centers

In the House of students No. 7 of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, curators-advisors of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics held a preventive meeting with 1st-year students dedicated to the legal education of students and the prevention of offences and crimes.

Aitasheva Zaure Gainetdinovna, professor of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, was awarded the medal "Eren enbegi usin".
