The Faculty of International Relations of the Kazakh National University organised a series of lectures on Central Asian Studies

On October 26, Faculty of International Relations, Department of International Relations and World Economy, Research Centre "Study of Regional Relations" organized a series guest lecture of foreign professors from India, Japan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan on Central Asian studies. Within the framework of the guest lectures were raised topics such as the current trends in migration, water resources, religious extremism in the Central Asian region.

Professor Govind Kumar Inakhiya, Associate Professor at the Centre for Russian and Central Asian Studies, School of International Studies (India) gave a lecture on "The Impact of Return Migration in Central Asian Countries".

Dr Raj Kumar Sharma, Senior Research Fellow, NatStrat (India) gave a lecture on "India's engagement with Eurasia: the Central Asian dimension".

Professor Ulugbek Khassanov, Head of the Department of International Relations, University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) (Tashkent, Uzbekistan) presented a lecture on "Problems of Water Resources Regulation in Central Asia".

Professor Farrukh Salimov, Head of the Department of Diplomacy and Foreign Policy of the Republic of Tajikistan, Tajik National University (Dushanbe, Tajikistan) delivered a lecture on "Mechanisms to Prevent the Spread of Religious Extremism in Central Asia (on the Example of Tajikistan)".

Professor Kenichi Ohashi, Rikkyo University (Tokyo, Japan) gave a lecture on "Russian-speaking tourism: the case of Vietnam".

The guest lectures were of a high professional, scientific, and theoretical level and provided informative insights to the audience. At the end of each lecture, PhD students, master's students, and undergraduates asked questions, engaged in discussions, and shared their views on the current issues of regional cooperation in Central Asia.

Additionally, during their time at the Faculty of International Relations, the foreign professors gave interviews on Central Asian research topics on the YouTube channel "Questioning Regional Affairs," organized by experts from the Research Center for the Study of Regional Relations.

The series of guest lectures will also be continued by Zhaliev Nurkhan, Managing Director of the Information and Analytical Department of the "Otandastar Foundation" (Kazakhstan), on the topic of "Compatriots Abroad and Kazakhstan's Diaspora Policy," and Omurova Saltanat, Doctor of Economic Sciences and Professor at the Higher School of Economics at Kyrgyz National University named after J. Balasagyn (Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan), on the topic of "Changing Migration Trends in Eurasia in the New International Realities."
