January 16, 2024 Department of International Law al-Farabi KazNU celebrated the 70th anniversary of associate professor Samaldykov Maksut Koshekovich. The event was attended by the dean, teaching staff, as well as students of the Faculty of International Relations.

During the event, acting Dean of the Faculty of International Relations Delovarova Leila Fedorovna on behalf of the rector of al-Farabi KazNU Zh.K. Tuimebayev presented Samaldykov Maksut Koshekovich with the medal “Eren enbegi ushin” and a Letter of Gratitude. Many warm words were addressed to the hero of the day; colleagues noted the significant scientific and professional contribution of M.K. Samaldykov in the training of young specialists in the field of international law and jurisprudence.

The Department of International Law sincerely wishes Samaldykov Maksut Koshekovich good health, happiness and success in his professional activities.

On November 8, 2023, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Mission in Kazakhstan organized a roundtable discussion for scholars on the topic of "Current Issues in Teaching International Humanitarian Law (IHL) in Kazakhstan." The roundtable occurred in a hybrid format, with in-person participation at the premises of MNU (formerly the Kazakh Humanities and Law University) in Astana and online participation from universities in other cities.
