Online meeting of students of the department of international law of the faculty of international relations with a social doctor of the Center for Prevention and Control of AIDS in Almaty
Within the realization of the program "Rukhani Zhangyru", for the purpose of inculcation of skills of a healthy way of life, prevention of drug addiction and destructive behavior among students, the faculty of international relations of Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi organized online meeting of students with a social doctor of the Centre for Prevention and Control of AIDS in Almaty Madina Meshirkyzy, who read a lecture on "Prevention of HIV-infections". The participants of this event were students of the faculty of international relations and faculty of law of KazNU named after Al-Farabi, as well as students of "Logistics" of the University of International Business. This educational event was held in order to explain ways of HIV infection, to increase the level of knowledge about HIV-infection, to introduce the measures of prevention of HIV-infection, to develop positive attitude towards HIV-positive patients.
During the meeting, a representative of the AIDS Center spoke in detail about the ways the virus is transmitted, its properties and development, prevention measures, where it is possible to undergo free screening, and answered all the questions of the students. The students have received a lot of useful and new information about the virus that leads to the development of AIDS, a deadly disease that destroys human immunity. Also, students Kumarova Asem and Abisheva Aruzhan, who showed particular interest, prepared presentations and made presentations on the topic of the online meeting. The most important result of the online event was that each listener concluded that responsible behavior and a healthy lifestyle are the basis of HIV prevention.

International lawyer-specialist of the new formation
November 17, 2020, the Department of international law within the framework of the 30th anniversary of the Department and the 25th anniversary of the faculty of international relations held a debate on the topic : "international Lawyer - specialist of a new formation"
In the debate participated the teaching staff of the Department, undergraduates, doctoral students of the specialty "International law", as well as invited guest Zhumakanov Nikolay Vladimirovich, Director of international legal Department of the MFA of RK.
The main Goal of the dispute is to promote the direction of "international law" and the specialty of international lawyer.
The participants of the debate expressed their views on urgent issues concerning the specialization of international law and trends in the development of international law in Kazakhstan and its prospects in the world.
Students of al-Farabi Kazakh National University won the Republican Olympiad in International law.
On November 28, 2020, the Republican student Olympiad in International law was held on the basis of the L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. This year, the Republican subject Olympiad was held in an online format, due to the epidemiological situation in the world. However, this circumstance did not affect the quality of its implementation. Here it is worth noting the professional approach and high organizational level on the part of the organizers of the Olympiad-the L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. Students of higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan participated. Each team consisted of five people.
The purpose of the Olympiad is to identify and support talented students, as well as to develop special professional abilities of future specialists.
The team, prepared by teachers of the department of international law of the faculty of international relations of the al-Farabi Kazakh National University, was represented by the following students: Talgatova K., Erbolov D., Abdullina A., Mereke B., Abdykasym K. All of them are distinguished by high academic performance, organizational skills, and take an active part in all events held by the faculty of international relations of al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The team's coach is doctor PhD Nysanbekova L. B.
Our team showed high results, passing all three rounds without any losses both on test tasks in the Kazakh language in the discipline "Public International law", and on solving cases in the discipline "Private International law", in addition, one of the rounds consisted of a blitz survey in English in the discipline "Public International law".
The results of the Olympiad were summed up by individual competition.
The first, second, and third place in the individual competition was won by students of the al-Farabi Kazakh National University majoring in International law- Talgatova K. was awarded a first – degree diploma, Abdullina A. –a second-degree diploma, and Mereke B.-a third-degree diploma. This was a pleasant, long-awaited surprise in honor of the anniversary of the department of international law and the faculty of international relations.
The next Olympiad will be held at the Faculty of international relations of the al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
Language - support of friendship
On October 2, 2020, the faculty of international relations held an online festival «Тіл - татулық тірегі» , dedicated to the day of languages of Kazakhstan, as part of the University-wide festival of languages «Тіл - татулық тірегі». The event was organized by associate Professor of the Department of diplomatic translation, candidate of philosophy K. K. Smagulova and 3rd-year students of the specialty "International relations". In this program of the event «Тіл - татулық тірегі», songs were performed in Kazakh, Chinese, English, Spanish, and students ' poetic art was shown. The faculty of international relations has many talented students who can appreciate the art of speech. The first speaker was the student of 3rd course of specialty IR Baluanova Aruzhan. She read an excerpt from the book "451 градус по Фаренгейту" in English. Spanish is one of the most beautiful languages in the world, which sounds good, and there are many students in our Department who study it. One of them is Sairanbekova Akmaral F. G Lorca "La sombra de mi alma". Our next Chinese friends, Liang Yuan and Liang Shu, read poems and sang songs in Chinese. The evening was closed with the verses of the student 3 courses of the specialty "International relations" M. Rahimdildaeva.
Students and teachers of the faculty of international relations take part in all events of the University and the region, as well as organize exhibitions. Advisors as curators of academic groups work according to the plan of social and educational work of the University, faculty and Department.
Under the authorship of Professor of the Chair of International Relations and World Economy of Al-Farabi KazNU Baizakova Kuralai Irtysovna, an article about the great thinkers Al-Farabi and Abai was published in the Abai Virtual Center in the USA. The publication is dedicated to the celebration of the 1150th anniversary of Al-Farabi and the 175th anniversary of Abai.

On September 4, 2020, on the Zoom platform, regular meeting was held with freshmen of the International Relations Faculty as part of the orientation week. Head of the Department of Diplomatic Translation of the IRF Seidikenova Almash Smayilovna explained to the freshmen the issues of choosing foreign languages during the period of study. Also speakers at the meeting were: DAAD lecturer and German language teacher Thorsten Kaesler, and French and English lecturer, graduate of the University of Strasbourg Jeremy Lonjon. The moderator of the meeting was the senior advisor of the faculty Tleubekov S.T.
On September 3, 2020, on the Zoom platform, a meeting was held with freshmen of the International Relations Faculty as part of the orientation week. At a meeting with freshmen, Head of the Committee of Youth Organizations of Al-Farabi KazNU Nursultan Bolatuly acquainted with the rules of the Code of Honor of KazNU students and the Regulations for student of KazNU.
