Within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals of Kazakhstan, a special round table dedicated to the Republic Day was held on October 23 with 3rd–year students of the International Relations specialty of the Faculty of International Relations of the Adviser Group, Associate Professor A.R. Alipbayev. The purpose of the event: modernization of the national holiday, to determine the ways of sustainable development in the future of our country among young people.

The students understood that October 25 was an important moment in the history of the country, and reflecting on the political situation of that period, they realized the value of the most important adopted document. A.R. Alipbayev shared his memories of the citizens who prepared the historical document. He also introduced the students to the issues of the newspapers "Leninshil Zhas", "Socialist Kazakhstan" dated October 30, 1990. These publications are valuable issues in which the text of the Declaration of Sovereignty is printed.

The Declaration of the Sovereignty of the State was adopted by the resolution of the Supreme Council on October 25, 1990. It proclaimed the sovereignty of the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic, approved the political and legal foundations of Kazakhstan as an independent state. Also, for the first time, such state principles as the integrity of the country's territory, its inviolability, the revival and development of native culture, traditions, language of the Kazakh people and representatives of other ethnic groups, strengthening of the national dignity of Kazakhstan, were approved. The document also proclaims the principle of independent solution of political, economic and social problems. The Kazakh SSR received the right to create its own internal troops, state security and internal affairs bodies. And the President is recognized as the head of state, the head of the administrative and executive supreme power.

Thanks to this declaration, we abandoned the application of Soviet laws and took a step towards creating our own law. Based on these principles, on December 10, 1991, our country received a new name “The Republic of Kazakhstan", and on December 16, the Constitutional Law "On the State Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan" was adopted.

According to the students and inspiring thoughts, it was clear that the youth would not forget the great document that paved the way for the independence of our country.
