Educational activity on the theme «No drugs and violence!»

On February 23, 2020 the lecturer of the Department of Diplomatic translation Ualikhanuly A. conducted an educational activity on the theme «No drugs and violence! ».

The purpose of the event was:

1. to explain the danger of drugs;

2. to promote the need for a healthy lifestyle;

3. teach how to resist the pressure of the group (don't do what you don't want to do);

4. explain the causes and consequences of drug use;

1, 2, 3 year students took part in this event. During the event, the lecturer Ualikhanuly A. together with other teachers made reports, showed videos about the harm of narcotic substances. Students actively participated in this event and everyone was satisfied with the event.

On February 13, 2020, the 3rd-year adviser of the specialty " regional Studies “of the faculty of international relations, candidate of historical Sciences, Byuzheeva B. Z. held an adviser hour on the topic ” Our goal is peace and harmony " with the participation of 3rd-year students of the specialty"regional Studies".

On February 13, 2020, at 15.00, an open curatorial hour was held in the FMO's 218 auditorium in the MP 91 group (Russian branch) with the invitation of the Chief specialist of the civil service Department of the Agency for civil service Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Baigaliev Aidar Kusaryekovich on the topic "Explaining the procedure for entering the civil service and passing competitive procedures for holding administrative public positions of the b corps.

On February 7, 2020, a round table on the theme “Environmental problems of Kazakhstan and ways to solve them” was held in 202 classrooms of the faculty of international relations, organized by members of the student club “zhas diplomattar”. Responsible for the event, candidate of historical Sciences, head of the club, Byuzheeva B. Z. told the students about the importance and problems of modern ecology. Students of the 3rd year of the specialty regional Studies, who took part in the round table, presented ways to solve environmental problems, received a lot of new knowledge on the topic.

Raphael Fayzon is an exchange master's degree student from the University of Poitiers in the framework of the Erasmus + Mobility enseignant program under a cooperation agreement between the University of Poitiers (France) and the Faculty of International Relations (KazNU). Raphael is the 1st year student of master's degree of the specialty «Translation business in the field of international and legal relations». At the faculty he studies several foreign languages such as Russian, German, and Spanish.

According to him, he was attracted in Al-Farabi Kazakh National University by its educational programs that meet international standards, the opportunity to study in English and a unique University campus which consists of the modern library, Student service center, Sports complex and comfortable dormitories and etc.

An event by undergraduates was held at the faculty of International Relations at our university. As part of their master's program, 2nd year undergraduates of International Law organized an educational lecture on the occasion of Human Rights Day. The lawyer of the Kazakhstan International Bureau for Human Rights and Rule of Law (KIBHR) - Kuatbekova Gulmira was invited to this event. The lecturer raised the main issues of protecting human rights in the world and on the territory of Kazakhstan, the specifics of the work of human rights defenders and human behavior in general in the modern world, the lecture was held in a discussion form, where students asked various questions: ranging from human rights to being of a human rights defender and the activities of a lecturer. The lecture was attended by the teaching staff, students of all courses. It should also be noted that this event was enthralling for some students, that is, the students present were interested in the mission of the Bureau and Tsoy Irina, Sagyndykova Aliya were invited to practice and further volunteer activities! 

On 12 December 2019 at 14.30 as a part of pedagogical practice of the 2 year master’s students of International Law program open lecture was conducted. The lecture guest was a Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Republic of Kazakhstan, Head of Trade and Economic Affairs, Mr. Miladin Miladinov. 

Professor Seidikenova Almash, Head of the Department of Diplomatic Translation, Faculty of International Relations, took part in the meeting dedicated to the special invitation of the Swiss Ambassador of Kazakhstan Urs Schmid in honor of the arrival of the Swiss President Ueli Maurer. Professor Almash Seidikenova studied postgraduate study at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland in 2012-2014 and is the recipient of the two-time Talent Scholarship of the Swiss Confederation. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Swiss companies and graduates of the Swiss University. She attended the meeting as a graduate of the Swiss University and held talks on further education ties. In turn, Ambassador Urs Schmidt thanked for the work being done to establish contacts between the two countries. He has always said that he would always support the embassy.

Department of International Law of the Faculty of International Relations held a meeting with Synergy Partners Law Firm with the participation of 4th year students on 5th of December, 2019. Representatives of Synergy Partners senior lawyer Ali Dautalinov and lawyer Anar Kubeeva presented the law firm at the meeting, explained in detail the employment opportunities and shared with the methods of preparation for the interview.
