The program is a specialty of Land Use Planning is aimed at acquiring theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the rational organization of land use and land use, development of schemes and projects for inter-farm and inter-farm land management that contribute to the formation of a specialist in the field of land management. The main purpose of the program is to study the main theoretical provisions, patterns of development of land use planning system, goals, functions and principles of land management; types, forms and objects of land management, land management systems, features of land management of different territories, land properties and natural, economic and social conditions taken into account in land management, methods of land-use planning; study of technical, design and design estimates, as well as ways to increase the efficiency of land use in the management system of the economy; formation of ideas about the use of modern software and technical means of information technologies for solving problems of organization of rational use and protection of lands.

Particular emphasis is placed on training in maintenance of regional and territorial land management, methods and principles of the division of land, land monitoring, inventory work



Research orientation, with a strong component of communications and interpersonal skills in the own language. Special tracks are provided for future Land Resource Management, Geoinformation systems in land management


Distinctive features

Students may emphasize either urban development cadastre, cadastral evaluation work or engineering surveying services. An Erasmus, Tempus, GSMART University mobility experience is recommended, but not compulsory.


Employability & further education



Land surveyor can apply the skills in the organization and production of design, survey, land surveying and cadastral works on the production site for the rational use and protection of land, can work in the field of land use and ownership for various purposes, in the executive, legislative and judicial branches, business sector (organizations involved in land expertise, surveying land boundaries, environmental assessment of land associated with the evaluation, registration, redistribution, sale and purchase of land lots and other facilities)


Further studies

Access to related second-cycle degree programmes, and - with some further work - to un-related second cycle degree programmes. Access to teacher training (education track); to Research and Pedagogic training.


Education style


Learning & Teaching Approaches

The general learning style is task-based learning. There are some lecture courses, accompanied by workshops and seminars. Most learning is in small groups (up to 10 persons) and emphasizes discussion, preparation of presentations autonomously and in small groups. In the final year about half time is dedicated to the final thesis, which is also presented and discussed with a discussion group of teachers and peers.

Students can independently apply the acquired skills in scientific and practical activities, as well as apply modern computer technology tools for data processing and use GIS in solving specific practical problems in land management; can independently analyze the experience of implementing design work on land management using modern systems. Students must demonstrate their ability, relying on the acquired in-depth knowledge, skills and formed general cultural and professional competences, independently solve the tasks of their professional activity at the current level, professionally present special information, scientifically argue and defend their point of view.

Ability to work with others in multidisciplinary background: application of innovative teaching technologies, developing teamwork skills, interpersonal communication, decision-making, leadership skills: reading interactive lectures, conducting group discussions and projects, analyzing business situations based on the case-method and simulation models, conducting role games, trainings and other technologies, teaching of disciplines in the form of author's courses on programs based on the results of research of scientific schools of the university, taking into account regional and professional specifics Subject to the implementation of educational content and the formation of graduate competencies.

Basic general knowledge: have an understanding of the philosophy and methodology of land management system, must know the classification of science and research; program-target methods for solving scientific problems; legal framework; hardware and software in new information technologies, ways of development of information systems; compile documentation, evaluate the cost, effectiveness and results of scientific activity; use mathematical methods in land management.

-        Special knowledge: must know the fundamental laws of the development of society and the basic laws in the field of regulation of land and property relations, land management, nature management. monitoring of land; methods of decision-making on territorial planning and organization of rational use of land resources, ensuring security; methods of land management and town planning design, automated system for maintaining real estate system, production of topographic and geodetic surveys for land management purposes; own methodology, methods, methods and procedures for real estate system, land monitoring; technology of collection, systematization and processing of information, filling in cadastral documentation, text and graphic materials for land management and land monitoring purposes.

Applying knowledge in practice: able to develop of mechanisms for the implementation of economic laws and management decisions, their application in the practice of management activities at various departments; able to use and analyze foreign systems of the state land cadastre, the differences, the direction of their development, their application as land and real estate management systems.

Develop and implementing socially significant projects to use in-depth knowledge of legal and ethical norms in assessing the consequences of their professional activities; use knowledge on methods for developing schemes and projects for the use and protection of land resources, land management schemes and other design and forecasting materials; development of instructions for use software tools and techniques for drawing up projects and schemes for land management and urban planning using computer-aided design tools;
