EP purpose

Purpose of the educational program - training of scientific and technical personnel able to solve scientific problems in the field of geodesic science and interdisciplinary research from the perspective of geodesic knowledge.

The implementation of the educational program is aimed at shaping the personality specialist capable of:

- demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the current state and trends in the development of scientific knowledge in the field of geodesy, geodynamics and remote sensing;

- integrate knowledge of scientific theory of geodesic schools into research practice;

- demonstrate traditional and innovative educational methods and technologies for teaching technical subjects related to geodesy in higher education;

- apply different methods of analysis and interpretation of geodesic monitoring of natural resources in the research process;

- To build a personal educational trajectory.

Educational outcome

Upon completion of this educational program, students are expected to be able to:

1. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the current state and trends in the development of scientific knowledge in the field of geodesy, geodynamics and remote sensing.

2. Integrate knowledge of scientific theory of geodesic schools into research practice, critically assess the level of development of domestic geodesy, its potential and growth opportunities;

3. Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the current state and trends in the development of scientific knowledge in the field of geodesy, GIS technologies, regulatory documents in construction.

4. Use a methodology for evaluating the accuracy of measurements of lengths, angles, excesses, and functions to equalize the values of coordinates, azimuths, and line lengths.

5. Demonstrate the problems, tasks and stages of scientific research in geodesy, evaluate the results.

6. Demonstrate the theory of evaluating the accuracy of measurement results and functions for equalizing coordinate values;

7. Demonstrate methods for research on observations of deformation and precipitation of precision engineering structures, systematically present the natural and man-made risks of spatial systems, their environmental and socio-economic consequences for society.

8. To integrate knowledge and practical skills in the field of automated technologies of performance of geodetic works.

9. Perform time-coordinate linking of objects, phenomena, and processes on the Earth's surface, finding technological solutions for the creation of three-dimensional models of the geoid, quasigeoid and the reference ellipsoid.

10. Consider options for conducting geodetic control in the conditions of development of territories of megacities in built-up areas.

11. Describe the methodology of management of engineering and geodetic works in the field and office conditions.

12. Interpret and generalize current scientific knowledge in the field of geodesy in the context of the leading directions of geodesy.

Academic activity

Academic activity of the EP is carried out:

- within the framework of existing regulatory documents and methodological recommendations in the field of higher education in the field of geodetic sciences;

- as a result of the implementation of regulatory documents regulating the educational and methodological process at the university;

- generalization and dissemination of new normative legal acts concerning methodological work;

- current and long-term planning of the educational and methodological work of the university; coordination of the educational and methodological complex of the discipline (EMCD) of the department for compliance with regulatory legal acts, the working curriculum and the educational program;

- monitoring the provision of the educational process with teaching materials, documenting the results;

- development of teaching materials; development and implementation of the working curriculum.

2nd year undergraduates have the opportunity to study at leading universities in the world as part of the academic mobility program. In particular, there is an agreement with the University of Technical University Yildiz, Istanbul, Moscow State University of Geodesy and Cartography (MIIGAiK, Moscow, Russia), Master students study disciplines, study GIS, work in scientific laboratories. More than 20 undergraduates have already completed their training.

Teachers of the educational program undergo internships, educational courses abroad to exchange experience, gain new competencies, and improve educational skills.
