As part of a guest lecture at the Faculty of International Relations of the al-Farabi Kazakh National University, a meeting was held between first-year students majoring in "International Relations", "International Law", "World Economy", "Regional Studies" with an employee of the Representative Office of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Presidential Administration) Akhmetov Erik Bauyrzhanovich, who is a graduate of the faculty.

The event was opened with a welcoming speech by the Dean of the Faculty, PhD in Law, Associate Professor Zhuldyz Talgatovna Sairambayeva.

On May 21, 2024, within the framework of the 4th Sustainable Development Goal, teachers of the Department of International Law Nysanbekova L.B. and Altaeva K. Zh. conducted career guidance work at the school №159 named after Altynsarin. Our teachers explained some of the features of the choice of the specialty «International Law», about the high-quality education of students, about the advantages and opportunities at the end of training in this program and career growth they can achieve by choosing the specialty «International Law».

After all, choosing a profession for a student is:

- A responsible and important step which impacts on future.

- The opportunity to realize interests, talents and abilities.

- A chance to find a job that will bring him pleasure and satisfaction.

It is important not to make a mistake with the choice of profession, as the future of a person depends on it.

April 27, 2024 at the Faculty of International Relations of Al-Farabi KazNU hosted the Republican Subject Olympiad in International Law 2024.

In general, the “Olympiad in International Law brought together within the walls of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University the strongest and brightest 17 students from 8 Kazakhstani universities.

Based on the results of the Republican Subject Olympiad in “International Law”, Elmira Kabilzhaparova, a student at Turan-Astana University, was awarded a first degree diploma. Turan University student Tursynbai Bekzat Serikuly was awarded a II degree diploma. Karaganda Buketov University student Adil Garipullaev was awarded a third degree diploma.

On April 17, 2024, within the framework of SDG 4, the Faculty of International Relations of al-Farabi KazNU held an open lecture on "Evidence and evidence in civil proceedings". The lecture was delivered by a specially invited guest, lawyer of the Almaty Regional College of Advocates Alenov Abdrakhman Amiradinovych.

  During the lecture, Abdrakhman Amiradinovych told in detail about his experience when considering civil cases. He noted what materials and documents are considered evidence, how evidence can be secured, and what is not considered evidence. According to the lawyer, every piece of evidence in the court is of great importance, but it is even more important to compare all the pieces of evidence and evaluate the positions of the two parties. Experience shows that it is possible to lose a case if you have weighty evidence, and vice versa.

On April 11, 2024, as part of the closing ceremony of the III International Farabi Forum, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, students and young scientists were awarded in various categories.

In the Faculty of International Relations, 1st place Diploma and a cash certificate from the Chairman of the Board - Rector of Al-Farabi KazNU Zhanseit Tuimebaev, awarded to 4th year student of the EP “International Law” Raimkulov Zamanbek.

On April 1-4, the Department of International Law of Al-Farabi KazNU held a master class on the topic: “Ensuring inclusive and equal quality of education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all.” The guest of the event was Muattara Rakhimova, Doctor of Law, Professor of the Department of International Law and Human Rights at Tashkent State Law University, who gave a lecture on international economic law.

Participants: students and graduate students of the educational program “International Law” of al-Farabi KazNU.

At the master classes, current problems of international economic law, its functions in developing economic cooperation between states were discussed; in the practical part, cases on the practice of implementing regional economic cooperation in Central Asia were considered.

The students were keenly interested in the practice of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the initiative of developing economic cooperation between the countries of the region and improving legislation in this area.

Master's students received comprehensive answers to their questions. As true beginning researchers, the master's students asked prof. with interest. M. A. Rakhimov on the practice of implementing international treaties on the development of interstate cooperation.

As part of the implementation of SDG 5 «Gender Equality», as well as SDG 10 «Reducing inequality», on April 2, 2024, a meeting was organized at the Department of International Law of the Faculty of International Relations of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with M.A. Rakhimova, Doctor of Law, Professor of the Department of International Law and Human Rights of Tashkent State Law University.

During the meeting, issues of gender equality in Central Asian countries were discussed.

Professor M.A. Rakhimova shared information about the practice of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the implementation of gender rights, noting that one of the priorities of the state policy of the new Uzbekistan is the achievement of gender equality, ensuring the rights, freedoms, and legitimate interests of women, strengthening their role in public and state life.

On March 28, 2024, a roundtable on «Suicide prevention among young people: Kazakhstan and international experience» was held at the Faculty of International Relations of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University as part of the achievements of SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions.

The roundtable was organized by the Department of International Law: Doctor Ph.D. Baimagambetova Z.M., Doctor Ph.D. Altayeva K.Zh., 1^st year master students Ayatullah Nemati, Ibrayeva Adema, Orazbek Bekarys, Toktarbekova Madina, Wang Xi.

The purpose of the event: crime prevention and improvement of legal literacy among young people on suicide issues, analysis of Kazakhstani and international experience.

On March 14, 2024, at the Faculty of International Relations, as part of the achievements of SDG 16, a round table was held on the topic: “Prevention of domestic violence in the family.” Organizers: PhD doctor Baimagambetova Z.M., 1st year undergraduates of the OP “International Law”: Kanatkyzy Zhuldyz, Tursunbekov Sanzhar.

     The purpose of the event: spiritual and moral education of students, strengthening the institution of family values, increasing legal literacy, creating zero tolerance in society in countering domestic violence in the family.
